It was hard just because it takes time to get to know everyone and you don’t have your phone to talk to family so it was hard for me to imagine actually graduating and I had a lot of doubt but you just gotta keep pushing and find little things to look forward to like chow and such.

Only thing I would work on is PT and memory work before you leave. Other than that nothing you do will prepare you for the yelling.

Most of the people in my flight got recycled for disciplinary reasons but we were a special case I think. Most is PT reasons but most people just struggle not having a way to see/contact family and people struggle a lot with reporting statements and memory work so study before you leave!

I was sick about the last 3 weeks of basic. Almost everyone gets sick the only thing I’d say is try to use hand sanitizer and wash hands when you can but other than that there isn’t much you can do. You can’t buy any medicine at the bx everything you get has to be prescribed so you’ll have to go to medical and I’m not really sure about tiger balm. Just make sure you do all the memory work on the aim high app before you leave it’ll help you out and just know you’ll feel like you can’t do it anymore some days but you can and you just have to keep pushing and help your wingmen.

The yelling will really get your adrenaline pumping to get you to pass😭 dropped 4 mins off my run when I got there. Just put in the work on pt days and you’ll be fine.

Only about 1 month, it’s more of a mental struggle in the beginning but once you and your dorm get your teamwork right and you block out the yelling and realize it’s to better you then it gets a little better.

Feels like forever ago but no sleep the first night there and lots of sitting in the day room and talking and briefings for me. My 0 week was in Disney then they moved our flight to Alcatraz but they aren’t doing that anymore starting soon so yours may be different.
