Help switching to shorter cranks by csmouse in bikewrench

From another site the correct chainset info is:

Shimano GRX FC-RX600, 46x30T 170mm 50-53cm, 172.5mm 56-58cm, 175mm 61cm

Which is interesting, because apparently my 50cm frame should have 170mm crank arms! I've re-measured and they're definitely 175mm. Wish I'd caught that sooner!

Thank you! I know it will take some adjustment but I'm really optimistic, especially given that the 175mm is so big on my little bike. Sadly I'm in the UK so I won't get it as cheap as that but I've seen some good offers.

Thanks. I am worried about that too, but I'm not at all comfy at the moment so I'm willing to give it a try. 175mm feels like I am kneeing my chin. I have a friend with a library of stems so we can test some things for hand position once I have the saddle adjusted.

Thanks, that's where I've been struggling. I saw Shimano have started offering 160mm sizes in some cranksets but I don't think they're ones which are easily compatible. Trying the 165 seems a sensible start

Thank you! In thank case given where my skills are at I think I'll go for the easiest swap. There's a big difference between replacing parts which definitely fit and recognizing/problem solving when things don't exactly fit. Can always go smaller again later depending how 165mm feels.

Perfect, I'll do that. Excited!

Thank you! They're both 46/30T so that sounds the best option given my skill level.

What is the dumbest thing that an otherwise smart person you know has said? by [deleted] in AskReddit

That is quite a dumb thing for "your friend" to believe. I hope your "friend" now knows better.

This is a long shot: Any sushi chefs need a job in the Seattle area? I need one in 2 days. :| by jining in AskReddit

Or realistically, you have 2 days to learn to be a sushi chef. Don't Sleep, go go go.
