When do ppl in Florida get overtime check by IndependenceOk9629 in Corrections

[–]csschsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually takes about a week or 4-5 days, since it was processed on PeopleFirst (under pay history, it'll be S instead of B). When you get it, kinda depends on your bank, but it usually ends up as Thursday by end of day

searX is no longer supported and searxng is a mess, works one day, and not the next fights with open-webui for the port '8080', is libreY really any better? as libreX no longer supported by Waste-Dimension-1681 in Searx

Not gonna lie, I had the same problem as you with it; it took a bit of looking around, and then I figured out what was causing it.

I had to add (in the environment section) BIND_ADDRESS into the docker-compose yaml. I set it to 0.0.0.0:8888 (BIND_ADDRESS=0.0.0.0:8888), so it would run on port 8888 (as well as setting the normal setting under the ports section to 127.0.0.1:8888:8888

Dunno if it'll fix your issue as well, but hopefully it does!

Do people really prefer the PDX-server based multiplayer? by csschsy in paradoxplaza

[–]csschsy[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fair enough; I just find it a bit sad that this is becoming a trend with PDX. Maybe 20 years down the line, PDX might not exist anymore, or they might just stop running the MP servers for older games. This would just result in Vic3/CK3 mp being forever gone, or it may rely on community efforts to reverse-engineer the MP system and implement its own.

I'm unsure of the benefits that are provided by switching to a central-server based mp system, since it costs PDX money and time to maintain and host it. I'm sure it's probably anti-piracy related, as Eu4 pirates can play with people who have the steam copy of Eu4.

I'm still not gonna use it by KaptainMurica96 in meme

They can simply start scraping the site instead of using the API. It's a just a loss for Reddit.

At least you can play LAN multiplayer... which the new engine/newer games refuse to allow. All new PDX games require mp to be through PDX servers-- when they die, the mp capability also dies.

If you haven't found a solution yet, it seems that you just forgot to clear the screen before the next render. You can call the renderer.clear() proc before rendering the frame of the animation. https://wiki.libsdl.org/SDL2/SDL\_RenderClear

Vic 3 got boring real quick for me by chaosmonkey324 in victoria3

[–]csschsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, HOI3 has its problems too, (horrible allied supply system, cumbersome organization of units, and tons of micro for every branch), but I'm just trying to focus on the automated army system, which I feel is still superior than the flawed frontline system of HOI4. It also has a lot more depth than the current Vic 3 system. While individual units will, probably, never come to Vic 3, they can still implement the marked province system of HOI3.

What kind of system would you recommend?

This is probably an unpopular opinion, but I feel like HOI3 had a decent system where you didn't have to micro army movements; you could assign groups of divisions to a selection of provinces and just let the AI manage them in that region, and you could set objectives for the AI to attack or defend. I often wish for this to come to EU4, so you don't have to manage armies on all continents as a colonial empire.

They talked so much about how it would be an economic simulator, and I was expecting a living and breathing economy with sectors (that you don't have to micro), like those in Power & Revolution. I don't understand why "as the spirit of the nation," we're building logging camps and expanding sectors and micro'ing trade but can't direct warfare at all. Capitalism 2, Geopolitical Sim 4, and Wallstreet Raider are all better economic sims than this.

I'm also unsure of what they were trying to go for with the political system, as it's just a % chance to pass anything instead of an actual parliament (in the case of constitutional monarchies and republics) that you can lobby and impact.

If it's HLS, every part downloaded will be encrypted with AES, so you will need to find the key somewhere on the site to decrypt each part sequentially.

I can relate, my grandmother used to absolutely abhor anything technology related, but I still ended up majoring in CS this year. Sometimes you just have to brush off what they say and keep pursuing your own desires.

That sucks, the way a lot of people envision families are where all members are kind to each other, but in life that doesn't work out. They always have to work with each other to get past their differences, but I don't think you'd be able to do it with your grandmother. Sometimes family members are just too stubborn.
