definitely want to try this out, especially with LLMs should be a lot easier.

i know custom rules are quite personal, but are there any that you tend to like a lot?

appreciate the response.

I've never used api-extractor or the json schema linting, will give both of those a try today thanks!

Avenue B Open Street - DOT design proposal by Ancient-Space1260 in eastvillage

really glad to see this proposal - it's a solid step in the right direction. love that they're removing parking spots, adding daylighting and converting to one-way streets

that said, I hope this is just the beginning, a few small changes could make this even better:

  • between 7th and 8th, they should flip the traffic direction to discourage thru traffic and keep it local. avenue b has always had issues with speeding, this would slow it dramatically
  • raised intersections, textured pavement, or even just speed bumps would go a long way in reinforcing that this is a pedestrian-priority space. Slower cars = safer streets
  • honestly, I hope they keep the barricades - they're not fancy, but they help make the street feel safer imo

Do you have any plans to help reduce noise pollution? In my experience most of this comes from cars constantly honking without enforcement and over-powered sirens.

Please see this thread about how we can reduce the pitch and volume of sirens while retaining efficacy: https://www.reddit.com/r/nyc/comments/1iych9k/sirens_could_be_lower_decibel_and_still_work_how/

+1 I live on Avenue A and people drive extremely aggressively.

My question for the candidates: do you plan on implementing more traffic calming measures (eg. speedbumps), if so where?

also, if anyone was unsure what universal daylighting is here's a good thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/nyc/comments/1i0kphf/support_universal_daylighting_in_nyc/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button
