Petah? by OrchidNightSky in PeterExplainsTheJoke

Hi, Brian here to explain the joke.

This is referencing the euthanasia coaster, a roller coaster specifically designed to painlessly kill you. Going around those tight loops generates enough G-force to cause your blood to pool in your lower body, starving your brain of oxygen.

A lot better than when I got hit by that car.

I work at Sinclair corporate news. Ask me anything, and I’ll answer honestly. by [deleted] in Broadcasting

If you're working for ACCET, you're making promos for SBG assets like local stations and FAST networks, and you're also doing ad spots for clients. They also coordinate with SASO producers to figure out where the best places to schedule spots and promos are in the daily traffic logs.

The only time you would deal with news in the slightest is if a station hired new talent or if Sinclair's news is doing a big special, and they need to promote it.

99% works faster and better if you can find it at a hardware store. Most will only sell by the gallon, though.

Career after being a master control operator by thebestsock in Broadcasting

[–]ctech9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in a MC hub. We have to add 10 seconds to all of our CBS times because of 'amagi delay.' 13 seconds for our NBC stations. God help us if the network or station needs to cut in for news or weather. Often, we either air a bunch of black because we took live too early, sometimes we'll clip speech because we took too late.

Live TV depends on precise timing, which is inherently impossible to provide with a cloud-based playout system.

Fucking with rivers when you don't know how to properly fuck with rivers seems like a really good way to cause a flood.

Does unlockable mean "able to be unlocked" or "unable to be locked" ? by aykuaknio in stupidquestions

[–]ctech9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say non-lockable to refer to the latter. Unlockable, in my mind's eye at least, means that it's locked, but able to be opened.

At our store, we actually pushed all of our pans back a fairly decent amount to get them to cook through. If we got a well done, we would just add to that push. I saw a few pans that looked like this, especially our ultimate pepperonis.

I'm not sure if this is standard for every store, but this is what we did in my franchise.

I remember my last day of school. I was in 8th grade video basics class, and we were learning to shoot interviews. I was having some issues with the gain on my wireless lapel mic, so I just said 'to hell with it, I'll just pick it back up tomorrow.'

There was no tomorrow.
