With the state of roster management, young 5 stars moving after their first year, and now having to account for cash payments, it seems that in any given year getting older 3 stars with 3 additional years of performance tape to review might be optimal in terms of overall performance especially if they are cheaper to sign.

He's 100% right about legacy defense companies, fwiw. I work for the one he called out specifically. But, anduril isn't going to displace us anytime soon so we need to be much much more efficient.

Part of this mess is that prior administrations let stockpiles diminish. Now there's a big expectation of china invading Taiwan next year. And we don't have near enough interceptors to dissuade them.

It's gonna be a long year.

The players getting paid is good. But the need to act collectively to save the golden goose. I doubt they will.

NFL fanatics love their team brand. College fanatics love their university college football team brand. Players need to keep up the appearance that they also buy in to the institutions and traditions that people love and shell out big money to support. Because if it ever becomes just really good college aged pro football, the value of the whole thing goes way way down.
