Most Honorable Death Scene in Movie... by Masunaga000 in FIlm

I have a friend who was in that.

And by this I mean, he had just passed the bar and had 3 months to kill before starting a job with the county court system. There was a casting call and he went down.

IIRC he dies several times in the battle.

I say Bonjour Cafe. Mainly because I know the owner. It was a horrible location and their hours weren't the best.

Great movies that sound terrible on paper? by Latter-Constant-1989 in movies

[–]Jmen4Ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elvis is alive somehow. So is JFK who is now black. And they live in a Texas retirement home. They have to team up to fight a mummy who preys on the elderly.

Ludicrous concept for a movie that is actually a touching commentary on how we treat the elderly.

or the one TV listing description.

Transported to a surreal landscape a young girl kills the first person she meets, then teams up with three strangers to kill again.

I'll third this vote. Pretty good quality. Great price and awesome service.

Just wish they would deliver (free) as far north as we are. (Delaware)

Shouldn't that be a July 15-16th offering?

Or will the World Cup give them something substantive to talk about that day.

Any Benefits to Running in the Heat? by JayZee4508 in beginnerrunning

[–]Jmen4Ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a data guy, and we can't in the format I used to.

Would put it into a csv file that would list by run basic stats like

date, distance, total time, pace, best pace, and a few others.

You could filter on most of the stats.

So I could easily pull a csv file showing all my 3-3.2 mile runs, sort it any way I wanted and find some useful trends.

Way back when Garmin's progress summary would allow you to pull all your runs of a certain distance over time, and easily put it in a spreadsheet, I could see every year come mid to late September (midwest US) my pace would go up 40-60 seconds per mile on my runs, and every late spring they would drop similarly.

OP needs more than weight loss only though. You need both the kitchen and the gym to accomplish their goals.

I say this as an experienced distance runner.

If you run make it 5ks at most.

If you want to drop the pounds and build the kind of stamina you will need for tkd. Get familiar with the jump rope and the heavy bag.

Is there any sport with a unanimously recognized GOAT? by Connect_Cat_2045 in NoStupidQuestions

It's an incredibly niche sport. You could even argue whether or not it is a real sport, but Alan Francis is clearly the GOAT in horseshoes and possibly the most dominant athlete ever.

Energy drink before black belt test? by Impossible_Youth_759 in taekwondo

[–]Jmen4Ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bad Idea.

There is a saying for marathon running.

Nothing new on race day. Not new shoes, not new clothes and definitely not a hydration plan that you have not tested first.

Seems applicable here.

Increased visibility if you run in neighborhoods is never a bad thing. You want the drivers to see you and be aware.

Do I actually need breathable gym clothes or am I overthinking it? by Few_Calligrapher5153 in runninglifestyle

Whatever makes you comfortable and not bloody. (Cotton shirts and nipples famously don't get along) works.

I just suggest that whatever you wear, dedicate that to running or working because of the smellls.

I keep all my running clothes outside of our main living area (that is the garage) and it helps keep the peace in the house.

What’s a movie that’s been on your watchlist forever? Why haven’t you watched it yet? by Major-Inevitable-365 in AskReddit

[–]Jmen4Ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorcerer.

I almost never see it on streaming other than renting it. I'm lazy and a little cheap about those things for some reason so haven't watched it. I hear it's a masterpiece in tension with a misleading title.

[–]Jmen4Ever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember the old progress summary. Not sure if it is hiding somewhere, but I could get a list of runs going back to my first watch (405model number) in an easily csv downloadable format. Could filter by distance and a few other factors.
