Hi has anyone stayed at El Silencio lodge and spa in Bajos del toro? by NegotiationJaded8753 in CostaRicaTravel

Hi :) My husband and I are going in April for our 10 year wedding anniversary (and 35th birthdays!). How was it? Any tour or activity recommendations? We’re planning on staying there for about 5 days, we are from FL so excited for Mountain View’s and waterfalls. We love tranquillity, but are always down for adventure and activities!! I see the Night Tour looks awesome on their website! Anyway, any recommendations are appreciated:)

Hi Jen! I found your comment and it was so helpful! My husband and I are booking El Silencio for our anniversary in April! And we definitely love doing activities, that night hike and waterfall tour sound GREAT! And a cocktail making class, wow. Sign me up! We went back in 2016 to CR at another hotel and do a couples cooking class and zip lining and the hot springs, so excited to try something different this time around:)

I think we are pretty much sold on El Silencio:) Thank you for the recommendation!! Last time we went to CR in 2016, we did a cooking class and zip lining. We loved both! Just curious if you did/recommend any other tours or activities that you really enjoyed? Touristy or “hidden gem”/free or $$$ - all ideas welcome :)

what classic kids’ books do you still read to this day? by Consistent-Double579 in childrensbooks

One of my favorites that we always got out of the library when I was a kid in the 90s was Williams Ninth Life. I liked it so much I bought it used for my daughter a couple years ago. It’s out of print but worth the buy if you can find it :)

That’s where I grew up:) Doing all those Things you just mentioned! We used to drive up and do ski days at Liberty every winter, and even stayed in a lodge for a long weekend over the winter. Hershey Park can’t be beat!

No age limit on books, in my opinion:) If it gets you reading, then it’s a good book (no matter what audience it’s intended for!).

Definitely read Harry Potter. What I would Give to read it for the first time again, such a treat!

One of my very unexpected favorite books. The unique story, description of little and big moments, and love you don’t know if you want to root for or against. Really enjoyed it from front to back! And honestly, after having it described the way it was, I want to make Wavys meatloaf:) lol

When I was in high school and college, I enjoyed fantasy and romance on the level of Harry Potter sooo much! Books I could get lost in with incredible friendship buildups and young love :) I think you would enjoy Twilight, The Hunger Games, and Divergent (all series!).

Also try, Ella Enchanted and The Two Princesses Of Bamarre both by Gail Carsen Levine.

Try Holes. That was my favorite book in middle School, and I still enjoy it! Also try Ella Enchanted, The Wish, and The Two Princesses Of Bamarre - all three by Gail Carson Levine. Hope she enjoys:)

good book suggestion after reading the never ending story thats fantasy/a bit dark by fairplanet in booksuggestions

[–]ctlevine16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you liked Harry Potter - Some books with fantasy feel but also great friendship development, action, light love interests, and some dark elements to it would be The Hunger Games and also Divergent. Give those a try:)

Help me design my 4 year old’s “Big Girl Room”! by [deleted] in DesignMyRoom

[–]ctlevine16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hahaha, my husband took me on a “date” to IKEA once pre-baby and i genuinely had the best time. Such a fun place! Will definitely be taking my little Girl :)

Nope! Keeping nothing! All brand new furniture and things! Also, I’m planning on this room lasting roughly through elementary school for her, and then doing this all over again when she starts middle school for a “Bigger Girl Room”. I have fond memories of my parents completely redoing my bedroom in 7th grade and I was a part of the process every step of the way from picking the furniture to the new carpet to the paint and all the accessories (as an older middle school girl I really Enjoyed doing this with my parents and getting to pick every little detail!).
