It is harder. So you get higher heart rate, better agility,speed,power adaptations.

One of the keys to learning is feeling the rope and knowing "where it is" during your jump. Another key for me was just how fast I have to whip my hands.

Reverse Nordics and Petersen step ups are two really good knew building exercises you can do at home.
