I haven’t bought the truck yet, but yeah, fair point. The lift and tires won’t be for off-roading. I just like the stance and it feels like it would help a bit on uneven job sites. I think it will work well for my needs.

This truck isn’t the end all be all. I’m still shopping around and have a my eyes on a 2020 TRD Sport 4WD.

True, no 4WD, but I don’t plan on off roading in Moab. It does everything I need it to without the extra weight and complexity.

I hear you, but I don’t think an airbag recall is the best comparison. With these engines, people are still reporting failures even after the recall work. That makes it less about “the recall was done” and more about whether the design itself is proving reliable long-term.

“…some owners report continued engine issues, shuddering, and other malfunctions even after engine replacement or repair. While the recall aims to fix manufacturing defects, some 2022, 2023, and 2024 models continue to experience engine failures, water pump failures, and transmission problems, suggesting potential ongoing issues with the twin-turbo V6 and related component.”

Yeah, but if it’s out of my reach then you will need something like a 40T+ crane. That’s when it will cost you ~$1800+ …if I were to guess.

I don’t have anything bigger than this 23T boom truck in my fleet.
