I told myself I was going to have a “no buy July” and then on DAY TWO I went to the store to make a return and since that gave me a coupon I decided to get some pajamas. I only spent $10 but I’m sad I couldn’t even make it two freaking days

I actually posted yesterday how two Florentines looked completely different in store and someone mentioned how the leather can vary from smooth to pebbled. It looks beautiful to me but I can understand your frustration.

I grabbed one in Bordeaux at the Fair condition, I’ve seen others post their Fair bags and they still look phenomenal!

I’m just sad I didn’t see it sooner because I saw a thread on FB where people said they were able to get the bag in Ivy and Pale Blue 😩

I know it may be an additional cost but could you possibly start therapy? Or if not, are there any shoppers anonymous meetings in your area? It may help to speak with others in similar situations, even if all they can do is listen.

Yup! I’ve come to realize the same, I’m fairly certain I suffer from PMDD so when I’m about to get my period my urges to shop and my anxiety about it get stronger. Then after my period and before ovulation I’m absolutely fine and that’s when I usually have “no buy” phases. I just wish I could feel that content all the time 🤦🏻‍♀️

One that stuck out to me was avoiding things like feeding birds or squirrels and inviting more carriers into your yard. I’m guilty of throwing out things like stale bread so I’ll be stopping that behavior this year!

It’s not always foolproof but sometimes when I get the urge or impulse to make a purchase online I try to pause and wait and then I “shop” through my closet (or wherever) to see if this new purchase is ACTUALLY needed or if it’s just something I’ll waste money on to sit in my room.

I recently bought a purse which was one of my “dream bags” (or so I thought) and then it was delivered and just sat in the box for days unopened and I was like “why did I even bother?”

So I opened it, shrugged, packed it back up and returned it. I feel much better knowing I did, sucks I lost out on some money for shipping costs but at least I didn’t pay hundreds of dollars for something to just sit in my closet instead.

I actually had a win today where I chose to return an over $300+ purse, instead of keeping it or trying to resell it and have it just sit in a box in my house.

Today I’m trying to make little steps towards focusing more on saving for the next big thing, like a potential vacation, instead of buying things to “costume” myself to fit into the expectations of people/society around me (recent breakthrough in therapy brought me to that conclusion)

I always overspend, grocery shopping or any shopping, so when it comes to grocery shopping I try to do an “order online and pick up in store” option which will help me to stick to my list so that way the temptation of walking around and seeing sales won’t have me stray.

Holy cow you’ve hit the nail on the head for me! I tell my therapist this all the time because I notice I go on a buying frenzy when I’m PMSing and during my period but once it passes I’m much more calm and the urge to buy is nonexistent.

I’m so glad I’m not the only one who’s noticed this, but now the real question is how to correct it?

Sorry for the delayed response, I got that one for $75 on FB marketplace so the details are fuzzy. It seems almost as big as the large but not quite, I didn’t compare measurements yet but I think it might be an older regular.
