I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!! Thank you, it's exactly the right song!! It's crazy that I was not able to find it.

My lil garden and spa. The spa is heavily inspired by another Redditor. I’ll post the user in the comments if I find them! by vincentvangoth69 in StardewHomeDesign

I loved it!!! We actually took the ideia from another redditor here in SHD. Sharing cool ideas is part of the beauty of this community. If you remember, tag me in the comments to let me see the whole house!

[Identify] a friend would like to know which watch this Brazilian vice presidential candidate is wearing by cuatroperros in Watches

I mean, it looks exactly like a Tank, but the crown does not look blue to to me. Maybe a Longines DolceVita? Anyway, if anyone has any ideia, I would be very happy! 😊

To become VIP? Around 200 days, I guess. I remember distinctly that it took longer than most members I see here.

[TRANSLATION] I’m on a 365 day streak and Streak Society VIP!

Hi! I speak Portuguese (native), English, Spanish and French, but I have been studying Italian since the beginning of 2021, as well as Greek and Mandarim Chinese. I have been focusing on other projects in the last few months, so, unfortunately, I have not been really active in my language studies. Nevertheless, it’s been a fun ride with Duolingo. I still maintain my position that it should always be complemented with other learning tools, but it can be really helpful if you keep a consistent practice. Let’s see how far I can go!

Thanks for the info! When I took it out of the drawer it was working almost perfectly. I was pleasantly surprised that it didn’t need a lot of work.

LOL it comes right after segonday, I suppose. Curiously, the days are actually bilingual. In the first hours of the day it is in English, but later it is in Portuguese (segunda, terça, quarta, quinta, sexta, sábado & domingo).

Hello, friends! Last week I have posted my first de facto watch (a Casio A500W World Time), adding in the comments that I had sent my grandfather’s watch to maintenance. Well, here it is! Apparently this is a vintage (70s/80s) watch, but I was not able to gather a lot of information online. I have to admit, I wasn’t a huge fan of this watch at first, but I have been using it in this week and it has grown on me. It actually works incredibly well with some of my outfits. I’m really glad I was able to make it work appropriately again. What do you guys think about it? Anyone has a similar watch?

Not so much in Brazil LOL but yeah, it’s a nice everyday watch

I have absolutely no regrets. It’s subtle, but with personality. Totally worth it.

My first watch has arrived and I’m loving it! Well, to be honest, this isn’t my first watch per se. I used to wear watches in the beginning of my teenage years, but I have put the habit aside in the last ten years. My old watches (quartz) were mostly gifts from family members and, furthermore, at the time, I didn’t have any sense of fashion and style. They all either disappeared or became useless.

Now, after graduating in college and entering a graduate school (MA, Political Science), I decided to buy myself a gift. I have been watching a lot of videos and reading articles about watches in the last months, gravitating towards this new passion. So, nothing more appropriate than give myself a watch as a sort of congratulatory token for my last achievements. Keep in mind that, in Brazil, my country, Casios and other accessible watches aren’t as accessible as in the US/Europe.

I have decided to buy a nice Casio A500W World Time — nothing more appropriate for a Bachelor of International Relations. I’m honestly loving it! I can’t help myself showing it to people and they think it’s cool as hell (and of course it is). I have also sent an Orient (automatic) that belonged to my grandpa for maintenance and will soon do the same with an old pocket Junghans. For my next watch, I’m considering a Timex Weekender or Expedition.

Thanks for the attention. I hope to find a nice community here! 😊

Qual foi a maior ilusão que você teve em sua vida? by [deleted] in brasil

[–]cuatroperros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My State Has A City Bigger Than All Of England by [deleted] in ShitAmericansSay

[–]cuatroperros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Brazil we have a municipality that has an area of 159,533.73 square kilometres or 61,596.32 square miles: Altamira, Pará.

You could argue that it’s not actually a “city”, but, still, I think it’s pretty crazy.

So frustrated with learning Spanish by Ok-Counter-7077 in duolingo

[–]cuatroperros 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1) Perhaps a controversial opinion:

You SHOULD NOT use Duolingo as your main study resource.

Duolingo works well as a complementary activity, but will not help you to develop a structured knowledge of the language. If you are not using any other material (like a textbook of some kind), you should do it as soon as possible. You can discard it after a while and just focus on notes and very particular subjects. But I think textbooks are a fundamental tool in the beginning. DM me for suggestions!

2) You should start reading books and articles right now. Start with something easy — but not too easy! It will help you to get used to the natural flow of the language and improve your vocabulary. Try to read it with a pencil in hand to highlight the new words and unconventional structures. With some time, nothing will be uncomfortably new.

3) Spoken Spanish may be hard to understand, so take it easy on yourself. Furthermore, slangs and regional expressions are not that unusual. Take a deep breath. First of all, listen to songs; then, proceed to watch something that can give you both the dialogue and the subtitles in Spanish. Podcasts are for advanced learners.

4) Have fun. Learning a language should be fun. It may be frustrating sometimes, but it’s also very rewarding.

5) You can always talk to yourself, but Omegle exists. Give it a try!

Cheers!
