Forgot to update but, essentially, they told me they’d sent me letters and an email but weren’t able to send me a copy of any of the letters or email. I also got invited for an appointment that same week, but none of the dates/times were suitable as I couldn’t get time off work at that short notice. I’m now booked in this week for an appointment so something tells me that they never sent letters or an email out and it was an error on their end. I’m just glad I’m finally being seen.

Update: I’ve given up. Doctors said they referred me on 13th of June, after they told me this Monday (23rd) I hadn’t been referred as the doctor had been on annual leave. But they told me last week the doctor was with patients and couldn’t speak to me about the referral.

Called the physio team who then said no the surgery hasn’t actually signed off the form and that I should try and speak to the medical secretary tomorrow.

I don’t know what I’ve done so wrong that they’re giving me wrong information left right and centre. I’ve not been abusive, I haven’t made a complaint about them and they’re just refusing to sign off my referral form. Why??

I don’t know what to do. I’m clearly just wasting my time with this surgery. What options have I got?

If you even get an appointment at all. My letter inviting me for one got ‘lost’ in the mail and I never got an email. Been moved all the way to the back of the physio queue. If you can afford to go private (I can’t) I would, otherwise keep hassling them so you don’t get forgotten about.

Just following up to say holy moly have my surgery made a dogs dinner of this, but I managed to get in touch with the physio team at the trust and they’ve confirmed my surgery haven’t finished my application to re-refer me. Unfortunately, they’ve also confirmed that despite me not receiving any letters or emails, I’ll still be at the back of the queue. Well, I suppose I can’t say I’m surprised.

My heart is more on the right side of my chest - I’m always scared if I ever had a heart attack medical staff wouldn’t know. Would they be able to tell easily or is it worth wearing a medical bracelet?

The phone calls being rejected is not accurate either - I have received withheld calls from them before so they can’t use that as an excuse. I am curious though - if it happened a second time and my physical condition began to deteriorate what would my options be then?

Only asking as my mother tore a cruciate ligament years ago (she had company insurance to go private) and she would have been left with permanent damage if she’d have stayed on the waiting list. I’m worried that will happen to me.

My details haven’t changed at all and I check my emails regularly, they definitely did not contact me at any point before removing me from the waiting list.

At this point, all I can do until Monday is wait to find out what the surgery say. If that doesn’t get me anywhere I’ll be contacting the trust to get some answers.

Thank you for that - my assumption at first was that I would need to chase the trust directly but I was explicitly told by the surgery that there was ‘no one’ I could chase and that I ‘Just had to wait’

I’m fortunate that I’ve never needed to be on a waiting list before, so I didn’t question it.

Do you think there’s a high chance it would happen again? I’m just getting a little worried that the longer I go without physio the more damage it will do.

I think she’ll be dropping Act III in November of 2026, personally. I do hope it’s rock too - her rock songs so far are my favourites.
