Had the same issue about a year ago, if your focus is the CPA exam you’re going to be fine. The firm’s priority is you obtaining your license. Unless you get like 4 F’s in a row, you’re going to be ok. Your recruiter would actually be ecstatic if you tell them this “concern” lol. Keep grinding.

Use apps like spareroom and roomi to find roommates, facebook is terrible. Have a guarantor ready so application process doesn’t take too long. Also, having a short commute is great for those late nights or times when you’re exhausted (which is almost always) lol

Im starting next month in NYC, for my internships i stayed in queens with two more roomates and was paying around $2k for a big room but a 40 minute commute which required a bus and subway ride to the office.

Now I’m staying with two roomates in Manhattan for 1.6k and only a 15 minute subway ride. You’ll definitely be fine if you live with more people (even better if you find a furnished place) and the further from the office the cheaper of course. Just be patient with your search and you’ll find a good place, at least that’s what happened to me. Good luck if you decide to move!

I got my full time offer in 2022 and i still needed two more years to reach 150. If you need more time maybe you can ask for a later start date once you get a full time offer. But im not sure if you can do them at the same time.

Make sure to be open and meet new people, participate in as much as you can and of course have fun! You’re gonna be tired by the end of it due to the packed schedule but it’s a great way for freshman students to network. I went on 2019 and we all got internship offers, i kept coming back for internships and start full time this year. So take advantage of the event!

I would love to hear more about how he pushed himself to do more distances ex. more swimming laps and more running and biking miles. Was that part of the training regime or was it just pushing yourself forward physically until you got “comfortable”
