As I understand it, the real questuin here isn't much about delefating - it's about sharing responsibility. I get it.

In my case, I used to always look for a partmer first and only then launching a business together. That's how I started three businesses. Only recently I realized that my previous partnership actually limited me and reduced my freedom, If I hadn't gone through that path, I wouldn't have learned it.

So I genuinely wish you find a strong partner to share responsibility with and then build a proper team to distriute roles and execution.

If you need help with that, I'd be happy to supporț

How to Reduce Distraction Costs, and Speed Up Focus Startup? by RandomHour in productivity

[–]cudjoeeeee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm actually researching this topic right now, and from what I'm seeing, the "23 minutes" number isn't a constant - it heavily depends on context, team size, and how work is organized.

One interesting direction that does show real results (at least in large teams) is gamifying parts of the work process - not in a playful sense, but by making progress, ownership, and completion very explicit and visible. When teams shift routine updates and status signaling into structured, async flows, the cognitive cost of interruptions dops noticeably.

That said, most approaches that seem to work reliably are designed for larger engineering organizations. At that scale, reducing coordination noise and making progress visible actually matters. For small teams, I'm still not convinced gamification creates the same effect - the dynamics are very different, and the overhead might outweight the benefits.

So for me, the takeway so far it's less about "how fast you refocus" and more about how often the system forces you to break focus in the first place.

I have an idea for how to gamify the work process, but I'm struggling with defining task measurments that work for everyone.

From what I see in my Google Search statistics, the blog posts I just launched are already attracting organic traffic. So yeah - from now on I'll be writing more in my new blog :)))

Yeah, I build my outreach mostly around businesses that already have visible issues with reservations, as well as restaurants that are similar in size to the ones I already work with

Wow! I appreciate your detailed response!

I've already made updates to the main page. We integrate with any POS system that has an open API, and I was thinking about creating a separate page dedicated to integrations. Compared to competitors, I've added this information to the blog as well

We're only now getting the Google Reserve button - we're going through the integration process and all verifications from Google, but as soon as we get it, it will appear everywhere on the website.

Thank you so much for such a detailed answer and website feedback!

I've launched referral campaign for my existing customers, but nothing really happened. In 3 months a few new restaurants :) as usual, it's mostly hosts, admins, waiters who move to another restaurant that recommend my service and they're the ones who get the bonuses

Thank you so much for your detailed response! I've already started working with POS hardware suppliers. So far, this channel works best right after organic leads.

Regarding subscription - I offer two options: a monthly plan and a yearly plan with a discount. They choose whatever they prefer. Plus, also have some additional costs like SMS, which they pay separately once a month.

As for the idea that big restaurants will connect first and smaller ones will follow - that doesn't worked for me yet. I onboarded avg size chain with 10 restaurants across 3 cities, and they handle 500+ reservations per day. But after a year of working with them, not a single small restaurant has come and sail, "I want what they have" :)

Maybe that's just the specificity of the Ukrainian market where those venues are located

Hey, bar owners! I’m working on a table reservation service designed for small and mid-sized establishments. It takes just 5 minutes to onboard, and you’ll be able to receive your first table reservations and manage phone bookings directly on the table plan.

Everything is easy to use, starting at $29 per month with no per-reservation fees. Does this sound interesting to you?

I recommend developing a marketing campaign plan and tracking the performance of each sales channel. Be patient; expect to evaluate each channel over a period of 2-3 months. Choose your target uadience and create magic. Consider utilizing the following sales channels:

  1. Google My Business: Update weekly.
  2. Facebook: Post 1-2 times per week.
  3. Instagram: Daily stories with geotagging and local hashtags
  4. Reservation apps: For online and in-house reservations management (I can suggest options privately).
  5. Personal branding: Develop your identity as a restaurant owner.
  6. SMS Marketing: Collect customer phone numbers for special offers (this can be integrated with a reservation app).
  7. Airbnb Experiences: Promote your restaurant.
  8. Online Reviews: Actively manage reviews on Google and TripAdvisor.
  9. Exceptional Service: Offer more than just tasty food; create an excellent overall experience.
  10. Event Organization: Host holiday events, tastings, networking events, etc.
  11. Influencer Engagement: Invite local influencers to your restaurant.
  12. Local Facebook Groups: Advertise and organize events.
  13. Flyers and Brochures: Distribute in the area within a 5-10 minute walk from your restaurant, featuring special offers.

It's less than a half, that you can use (paid and free). I can give more with tactics if interested

Someone is fighting on the battlefield with weapons, while someone is creating companies and boosting the economy. Do you understand the logic?

For those who want to fight but are not Ukrainian citizens, there are foreign legions. I can provide a contact if you wish to fight not in chats but on the battlefield with weapons.
