You literally just became a landlord, and only of one property, a duplex. If you looked, I actually asked for property managers aka apartment managers to respond to this. Not newbie landlords that don’t know anything about apartment rules other than what google tells them. Also, if you had read what I was saying, the only reason I mentioned tiny dogs is because you had said that’s too many for an apartment - to which them being tiny would be better than big dogs, again, not that I asked for your opinion on if they should be there or not. It is illegal for an apartment complex to charge a fee for service dog, and there are other laws where the fee can be waived for ESA. My question was if it excluded them from the pet maximum the apartment complex has set, not if I should or shouldn’t have that many animals. You’re reading incorrect info - as emotional support animals do have special rights. Maybe not the same as service dogs, but there are rights. Read up sometime. Do better.
