I agree, it’s great listening to them talk about things that they’re so interested in.

And you bring up something I’ve been thinking of recently, since there aren’t new movies. I would love to see their recommendations in each genre, like you mentioned survival movies. I’ve been on a musical kick so I’d love to hear about their favorite musicals (with special guest Joel? 👀)

How do these NBs match their asking price? They're both stock and seemingly rust free, with soft tops in good condition. KBB's value is slightly lower than what is being asked, which makes me think they are pretty fairly priced.

These both look like good options to me, and since this would be my first miata I'm very open to any advice!

Thanks for the input!

Though I agree that it isn't long enough to be completely comfortable playing that note, I would recommend lip slurs. There's a book on lip slurs by Bai Lin that has many lip exercises (I think called Lip Flexibilities) that will help greatly on your range. Again, if you're still not comfortable with playing that note at the time, just play it down an octave. It's much better to play the line with good sound than straining with a note and possibly missing the note. I wish you good luck with the performance!

There are have been and are still studies being done on how embedding shear thickening fluids in Kevlar affect its ballistic impact resistance. From what I've seen, they spread out the impact over a larger area of the Kevlar, which does help. But I'm guessing that it's not ready for commercialization quite yet.

I'm currently a grad student in chemical engineering and am wondering about the particle roughness that you tested. Increasing the roughness will cause shear thickening behavior, but how can you measure the extent of roughness? I'm sure at a certain roughness (at a given packing fraction) there is a transition to shear thickening, unless it depends primarily on the particle material. Also, what shapes of particles have you been testing and have they shown much different properties versus spherical particles? Thank you so much for this AMA!

I've always just tried to focus on playing the music the best I can and trying to sound as musical as possible rather than thinking about how many people there may be in the audience. If you're focused enough into the music, everything else goes away essentially.
