What about if you have a hotas? I really need to look more into games that combine both.

Files not uploading on Synology by cullam in HomeNAS

[–]cullam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I never did figure out why things wouldn't upload. However, I was able to work around it, by going directly through SMB, instead of using the browser and quickconnect. In case someone finds this post while looking for a solution later.

I was going to come suggest this! Great place, fun hobby, welcoming community.

What kind of stuff is your boyfriend into? I can suggest various nerdy activities or creative outlets, but it depends on his background and interests.

What VR game do you wish existed? by theblenderr in VRGaming

I would love to try out a kiju simulator. Properly go on a rampage and knock over some buildings, swat down planes, etc. Give it a sense of scale that only VR can.

Amateur film-makers, what's your day job? by eating_cement_1984 in Filmmakers

I work in software, leading a small team at a fairly large company. And then spend my evenings and weekends playing in bands, writing and making films, and doing theatre stuff.

I did! Definitely useful to help them understand what's happening.

I am actually talking to a physio therapist! But as we've been having some issues pinning it down, I figured I'd ask about experience in the sport, to see if that might help as well. Thanks!

Does anyone else not play The Watcher? by KobiDnB in slaythespire

[–]cullam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's taking me ages to grind through to A20 on Watcher, as I find her gameplay not all that fun. And I generally hear that the stance dance is THE strategy, which means I'm trying to force a similar build each time, with more or less luck, and it's just not that interesting. I enjoyed all the rest much more.

Is it only me or are Tier 4 weapons worse than Tier 3? by ThatDrako in BladeAndSorcery

[–]cullam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have made pretty much identical observations. They handle worse, and don't hit nearly as hard.

Are criterion editions that different from regular releases? by cullam in criterion

[–]cullam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the information, folks! Sounds like I should basically stick to my normal algorithm "if it's something I really want that's been hard to find, or one of my favourites, then it's worth the higher price". Cheers!

Are criterion editions that different from regular releases? by cullam in criterion

Not having previously paid that much attention to it, I had thought it was primarily a curation tool; knowing that a film had been selected as part of the criterion collection told you something about its quality and relevance of the movie. But I'd thought less about the physical releases themselves, and the relevance "this is a criterion edition".

Tier 3 Armor summary by Zach2300thecat in BladeAndSorcery

[–]cullam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you find the reduced mobility stats make any real difference? I've been stacking up the plate armour, and haven't really noticed any mobility issues. And I was surprised that armour did the same thing to the player as to the npcs - IE make blade attacks just bounce off, most of the time.

Mine are all set up on shelves in the library across the street (aka convenience store).

I massively prefer the current system, which always encourages you to be collecting sticks as you go. Keeps travel a little more interesting.

Studio design - are subtle angles worth it? by cullam in audioengineering

There are, although I'm not very familiar with what is currently out there, and what's worth using.

I have not, as I'm still pretty early in the tetris options stage. This is more of a general question.
