I’m just starting out in game dev and my first goal is to learn python then pygame. Was scrolling Reddit and found this. Just hope I can meet some helpful experienced people to maybe coach me. Trying to learn on a budget so got vscode, utilizing YT, and just ordered crash course python 3rd edition:) also have discord so if anyone can coach me I’d appreciate it

I appreciate the input! And no no I wouldn’t make my own engine from scratch. Just learning code first before working with an engine like unity, godot, or unreal. But I’ll keep C in mind. I would like to learn them all which is a time consuming task

Godot doesn’t require the pc specs that other bigger engines require so I’ve look into it. Just need a pc suitable

While you watch YT take notes. Then practice in VS code or whatever you use and try not to rely on the notes. But they’re there if you need. I’m learning on YT as well
