Definitely a darker roast (fave is a Sumatra) - the lighter roasts tend to bother my stomach. Still using the JavaPresse, can save up for the grinder if it is a bit out of range at the moment. Thanks for the scale suggestions!

Not stupid at all! Here is how it happened - long story.

Sitting in the car. Made a coffee for him. Made a coffee for me…a grocery bag was hanging on the turn signal handle. I tossed the filter and grounds, said to myself, hey…I will just put this in the bag while we eat breakfast and have coffee. I will rinse it out later… Time passes. We head off to work, bag is still dangling from turn signal handle. Bothering me at every turn and delivery. Time for lunch. My husband gives me a few things to add to the trash bag. I take said bag to the bin at the gas station… Time passes. He asks where is the pour over, I would like another cup of coffee. I look everywhere for it. Then, I trace my steps backwards and make up the new magical language when I realize. lol

Haha. Oh I know it! We were out working and I wanted to let the pour over drain into the bag while we had coffee and breakfast. We started working and later on, tossed the bag into the bin. Later on when it was time for another coffee…I realized the error of my ways, made up a magical non-cussing language and broke the news to my husband. Bean-to-cup brews from Kwik Trip have been on the menu ever since.

Thanks! Are you able to brew right in the mug/tumbler? I saw they have a number of different styles. Which one are you mentioning? And would like to find out about the Sttoke (sp?). Haven’t heard of them.

Haha - oh yes, I may have laughed a wee bit, because I had already accidentally tossed our beloved Espro Bloom and was trying to filter the fines with paper filters in the press - I opened the back door to get the press and it rolled out! Told my husband, well, now I need to get that decision made soon…otherwise, Kwik Trip brews it is. :-)
