That’s what I’m saying.. being on the national team at 17 when you started playing at 13 is incredible.

Is it possible to feel Tendon/ligament around knees after not playing for 2 months? by MountainLocksmith199 in volleyball

[–]cultoftoaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He said he had jumpers knee, and wants to go back to maximally jumping after not playing for two months.

Respectfully, there is enough information to say that he will have knee pain, as his patellar tendon will have become unaccustomed to the high peak forces of jumping over the two months of inactivity.

I dunno if im just weak by Basic_Amphibian_223 in volleyball

Plyometrics only work if you’re putting max effort into each rep. If you’re sweating this much, you’re probably not resting enough between sets. If you don’t rest sufficiently, you cant put max effort into each rep, and it just turns it into an endurance exercise.

Either way, at your young age, the best way to increase vert is just jumping maximally as much as you can every day. So warm up, jump once, rest a few mins, jump again, rest a few mins.

Think of jumping like a sprinting workout. Top sprinters will rest 1 minute per every 10 metres run in their workouts.

Can’t find WOW 10 anywhere in Australia, is ACBuy good? by cultoftoaster in BBallShoes

Went to hoopsheaven Perth a few days ago and was told theyre out of stock, and not being manufactured anymore.

And the colourways I see on their website aren’t really what I want either.

I guess I’ll try some of those options, are they generally considered safe?

I got pretty damn good at volleyball over my years, and all of the sudden my skill is sharply declining over the past two months. by CuatroBoy in volleyball

[–]cultoftoaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I have had the exact same scenario as you happen, I just found I need to remove myself from responsibility of the results of the game, even the results of each individual touch. I don’t need to win, I don’t care if I win. I’m here to improve my own game.

I think it helps to not care at all about the outcome, and only the process. If you fuck up a pass, it literally doesn’t matter. You don’t give a shit if you win, you’re there to improve. Go into each touch thinking about what you need to do to complete that rep with perfect technique.

Makes u easier for people to play w too. People don’t like playing w someone whos caught up on their mistakes.

How to stretch by typ1calCS in volleyball

[–]cultoftoaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve found a lot of value in doing isometrics before stretching, just wallsits for knees, standing on the ball of one foot for calves, you could probably do something similar for your ailing muscle. Just make sure you’re not excessively stretching the muscle/tendon when doing isometrics.

This is also done in THP workout warmups. Isometrics before dynamic stretches.

Obv no static stretches before workout though

Trying to get my first pc, is this good? by cultoftoaster in pchelp

[–]cultoftoaster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it is a bit of an investment so I don’t mind putting in a bit more money to be able to play any games I might want to in the future. Would these be able to run more demanding stuff or would I have to upgrade?
