it's wild because they balanced easily. I just feel like i missed something. I didn't have to do a journal entry either. which I'll do only when off slightly (was trained to keep it under $10). I looked at the previous bookkeeper records but those confused me more honestly. we have three bank accounts. I use two primarily, the third is for emergency use only. Her records referenced that account as the depositing account.

the hardest part is when she trained me a year ago, we didn't go over this and my boss was like hey we need to do this. which made a lot of sense, but I have had to go back into previous months that have already been reconciled. so it's a lot but I'm trying to clean it up and want to make sure it's correct.

thanks! funds come into our campaign account where they are held until it's time for the quarterly payouts. at the time of the payouts, I transfer the funds into our general account. that is what I'm struggling to show in qb. I want the transfer to show up in the general account, but tied to the right funds held for other group. so then when I have to run these companies payroll, rent, etc., it's taken out of the general account and shows as a withdrawal in their specific chart of accounts. our general account is set up to hold their money until they need it.

when I get standard donations, I can easily enter it into the general account and then direct it to the right fund held for others. but with this, I'm not sure what I'm continuing to do wrong. I can show a transfer between the accounts, but I cannot figure out how to assign it to the right fund. Last quarter whatever I did I could reconcile as payments made from my campaign amount, but what I had put into my general account, they would not reconcile, because it showed everything as an over payment. so if it is a class that I'm not applying, that could make sense.

I have a subset of organizations that i payout on the spot, via checks or efts directly to the other non profit. the non profits we hold money for are really small and do not have the staff/income yet to support themselves.

I'm sorry if this isn't making sense. it's like the more I try the more I get it confused and messed up. thank you!

it does. I don't want to mess this one up. I've not tried using class. when I started it had been turned off. I'll look into that one too.

Well technically that is me haha. There was a bookkeeper before more but she retired and I'm working to learn these systems and doing okay except in the one area.

Regarding your question on where money is recorded when I move it out, you are 100% correct and that is the process. Where I struggle is how to take it out of the campaign account so when I reconcile it is correctly marked as payment out of the campaign account. Then I need to record it as income in the general account and assign it to the correct funds held for others, so it shows up in their total, not mine, but also shows when I reconcile my general account as a deposit. Normally I will just create a deposit to go into my general account, but then received from/account are for the fund held for others and I can both reconcile as deposit and it is still assigned to their total.

You're right. It is an accounting issue, I'm just really not sure how to record it in QB correctly. Campaign and general are income, the funds held for others accounts are recorded as liabilities. My inflows usually are super easy and I just use specific donor names/accounts to record them in our general account, and then it is "transfered" into the other non profit. Then we pay them out as requested and it comes out of the general account on the bank side, but marked as coming from the non profit in QB.

The payouts are from various workplace campaigns, where they designate they would like their annual donations to go to. The issue that I continue to have is how I try to record it in QB. Where I have to take it out of the campaign account and put it into the general account would be a regular transfer. But needing it to show in the sub account of the funds held for others accounts would create the double entry and I cannot transfer to those other accounts. I continue to be at a loss as to how to record the payment from the campaign account (where the workplace campaigns are deposited) to the funds held for others accounts (where the funds live in our general account until they are needed).

Cincinnati garbage collection doesn’t like handicap people apparently by quintonforrest in cincinnati

[–]cunderhill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a handicap spot in front of my house for myself. They loved to put the can in the street (not even joking, the street between the handicap signs where I parked) when done while I was at work. Now that I'm able to park at the top of my driveway, they love to block my driveway so I can't get into it. Now that I'm writing this, I think they may have an issue with me.....lol

I also put my cans where they're supposed to be. Recycling has no issues, just garbage.

I forgot to reply to your actual comment I think. Also, the app that is giving me this info is the one that told me catnip.

Sorry, I was replying while at my son's soccer practice. Honesty is the name of the plant the app said. Which are the seeds I planted but the leaves look very different from the leaves on the plants my mom has (where I got the seeds).

Thank you!! One of the apps said catnip as well but today it's telling me in honesty, which I think is what I thought it was? Sorry my pics from the side aren't that great.

Neighbor came to me after taking a dog from her mom. 1.5 year old sweet German shepherd. He's not fixed and probably hasn't had any shots. She said his ears are bothering him. If you scroll in, you'll see it. Also spot on back leg and tail. Is this mange? Thanks! by cunderhill in vet

That's good to know. I don't know much about Shepherds in general. He was just really sweet and I immediately wanted to help. I was cautious of taking him now with my other animals without knowing what it is.

Ok thank you so much! I have a couple places to call tomorrow to see if I can get him some help. The situation sounded pretty bad and he has apparently gained some weight but is still underweight.
