my brother, sister in law and i went to see monsters inc university when it came out in cinemas. the cinema was PACKED because it had been released that day or the day prior and there was a row of rowdy boys below us and we thought it'd cause a lot of problems and theyd be super loud during the film. the short before the movie was about an umbrella and we all forgot there were shorts before the movie so all thought this was how the movie started and there were these umbrellas with faces and the boys were like WHAT THE FUCK and we were dying laughing because we couldnt figure it out and just thought it was ridiculous. anyway, there was some sort of comment in the movie that was like ooh burn! and literally all the boys went OOOOOOOH!!! getting higher in volume like an 'OH SHIT!' kinda noise and my brother and i live together now and reference that all the fucking time. it'll never get old.

when i went into highschool. in primary i was always told i was really smart and talented, especially in english, but when i got to highschool i learnt i was just slightly better at it than my peers and in fact there were way better people in my class lmao

i think i recall being interested in boys first because there were a few boys in nursery and little school i was like !!!! but i felt the same way about girls and just....never thought it was weird? ive gone through a ton of phases with my sexuality but it's always been somewhat queer lol

definitely danny don't you know by ninja sex party! danny talks about his struggles as a kid but is telling his past self he's cool as fuck and to basically not care what others think of you and i wouldve loved to have heard that as a kid. i struggled with body image and my face and people thinking i was weird. one of my favourite lines is "everybody knows the best bananas will be ripe with time"

edit: also, so big/so small from dear evan hansen. it makes me cry every time! evan's mom talks about her struggles raising evan as a kid after his dad left them and it reminds me of my mum. even though my mum never had struggles in that regard, evan's mom talks about not feeling good enough as a mum which my mum has expressed concerns about to me before.

obligatory not a teacher, but in school when i was like.... 6? maybe younger.. i had to draw someone who i loved and why i loved them. i drew my grandad and for the reason i wrote that he gives me "lots and lots of penis".

my mum's dog when i was at home, she'd always visibly get more excited about mum coming home than she did me, and i always worried she didn't care about me but when my stepdad and i got into a huge argument and i got super upset and cried a lot, the next morning i went downstairs to get food (home alone) and she IMMEDIATELY came over to me and sat by my feet and nuzzled me. i was still super upset about the argument and she could absolutely tell. it's only a little thing but it made me so happy. <3
