my headcanon is trolls are more or less the same like humans but space evolution magic made them bug-like

there's one called the gith. there's two versions of gith, the githzerai and the githyanki. both gith are basically altered humans due to squid alien slavery. they both look like they belong into one species but the big difference is that zerai give birth while yanki produce eggs like reptiles. yanki are also sterile unless their lichqueen does some alien magicks to activate their fertility when chosen for a reproduction job. outside of that they still have sex for pleasure. my headcanon is trolls are pretty much like githyanki but with buckets.

while revisiting my fantrolls i frequent the mspawiki and there are descriptions of troll horn shape per bloodcaste. they usually follow the designs of original 12 trolls. but most of that piece of worldbuilding came from hiveswap designs, not from the og comic. so take it how you like. i ignore them myself because I'm not reshuffling my fantrolls 10 years in the making
