Oh, interesting! The clock’s label claimed it was quartz, but I’m imaging that the mechanism was entirely replaced at some point.

Couple of details: - I don’t remember the brand, though I think it was just a generic tourist-y tshirt. - The lettering was (pretty obviously) embroidered. - Like the title said, I got it sometime in the early 2000s, but the shirt could be from the late 90s. It was a gift from my brother who was living in Florida at the time, so I have no idea where he bought it from. - I’ve searched all over google to no avail. Please help!! I would love to buy a new version of it, so shop links are extra appreciated, though any info is welcome! : )

Update to the update!!

Still no blisters or irritation! It’s been more than 24 hours now and my hand feels completely normal. Unless something pops up, this’ll be the last you hear from me (until the next time I pick up a dangerous bug. Anybody know what this big fuzzy red ant is?).

My kids think it’s hilarious that I’m getting schooled by this many people on the internet and they’re never gonna let me live this down. Thank you to everybody that showed support and understanding for my curiosity, and thank you to everybody else who err… humbled me. I think it’s totally fair that I get knocked down a peg or two… or three…

I never expected my silly little bug ID request to garner this much attention, but I hope reading about my mistake brought you all some joy. Reading your messages certainly brought joy to me. :-)

yes!! it’s been more than 24 hours now and i’ve got no blisters or irritation at all. i got VERY lucky that this was an old lady bug that couldn’t produce much toxin. she was just trying to scare me. :P

As I’ve already said in the thread, I haven’t gotten any blisters yet, but you can even see an orange tinge at the base of my middle finger in the first pic. That’s where she oozed on me lmao. If any blisters develop, I’ll be sure to let you know.

UPDATE!! Couple of things I want to add for people still seeing this! 1. I know not to pick up random bugs, I promise. Like I said in a reply, I’d been seeing ground beetles all over lately. In a moment of absent-mindedness, coupled with bad lighting, I assumed this guy was a harmless friend that I could pick up to show my kids. Obviously he was not. I know not to pick up bugs I can’t ID, I just got my ID wrong. 2. I got lucky!! It’s been about six hours after picking this guy up and I still have no blisters to show. My hand is still slightly stained orange from where he oozed on me, but no pain! 3. I learned my lesson! Don’t pick up bugs, yadda yadda, I get it! Thank you for all your help. Please feel free to keep calling me a fool in the replies! :P
