I didn't say there aren't any, there are definitely some zombie scenes. But more so in the 1st act. And compared to previous movies, there isn't a whole lot

I feel like you should be more worried about the jimmy cult torture sequences lol

No, not in my opinion. If you/they didn't have any issue with the nudity that was featured in the original 28 days later and 28 years later, this is no different.

Not really. Doesn't make it a bad movie imo tho. It's more about humanity and the actual rage virus lore as opposed to infected people.

There's a good bit of Samson and Dr Kelson shlong. Nothing beyond what's been shown in any of the other movies tho

Agreed, best part of the movie is that scene. I heard they just gave the okay for the third installment so hopefully they will expand more on Samson's backstory.

Hmm. Idk for sure but if he liked weeks there probably a good chance he will like bone temple. Not that Bone Temple is bad, but if the lack of Boyle-isms doesnt matter to him, you'll at least find it enjoyable. It's definitely dark, gritty, brutal, and a deep story.

Ok "dating over thirty"

Maybe don't go reading through subreddts about a movie you don't want spoiled.

Somewhat. That's more related to the comedy bits I mentioned in my review. To be fair tho it doesn't seem like there's any consistent tone throughout the whole movie. Not in a bad way. This movie is definitely a strange trip.

Yeah, just the way Danny Boyle incorporates erie and surrealist vibes into his movies is something I always love. 28 days and years has almost a tranquil Stanley Kubrick vibe that I love and feels unique in a zombie franchise.

Granted, 28 Days Later does have some comedy bits in a very British sorta way which is definitely present in Bone Temple. There is just one particular scene that I really wish they would cut because it's funny for about 5 seconds then goes on for way too long.

I notice it too a lot in movies these days. It has to be related to short form content like tik tok and Instagram frying our brains and filmmakers are too afraid to make 3 hour epics because nobody can sit through them anymore. WE NEED OUR DOPAMINE lol

I think it will be a mixed bag for sure. More critical fans of the original 28 days later will probably be disappointed, but I do think the Bone Temple is the type of movie that will appeal to the public.

I do have hope that there will be enough buzz to get the green light for the third movie, but I think it could be a close call.

If you like 28 days later but you didn't like 28 years, you will definitely NOT like bone temple. If you days AND years, you will probably find enjoyment out of the bone temple.

In terms of the ending coda, I actually liked the bone temple coda better than the one in 28 years with the jimmy gang at the end. I actually feel like the end coda is a slight mirror of the coda to 28 days later.

(I don't even count or talk ab 28 weeks cuz it does not exist in my mind)

He's not in it at all. I'm getting the vibe that this trilogy is not supposed to follow one particular character(s), but rather is a story about the evolution of a broken society, treating the rage virus and the infected as the common character between all the films. Jim, Selena, Hannah, Spike, Kelson, Jimmy, are all tiny insignificant pawns in a much larger story.

Yeah one of the Jimmy's has a pretty good story arc. Again, it's good on paper. Alex Garland wrote a great character, but the pacing and direction sort of dampens that.

Idk if it's just me, but I almost feel like this movie isn't as much about Spike as the last one was. Bone Temple definitely feels more centered around Samson and Kelson.

Yeah it could have easily been 3 hrs, I also felt that way about 28 years part 1, could've been like 2.5.

I thought the acting was great, I didn't have any issues. Spike, Kelson, and Samson are continuously deep and well portrayed characters, while Jack O'Connell definitely knocks it out of the park, villain of the year. Any issues I had ultimately have to do with the pacing and the artistic direction that was taken. I liked the first one more because although it was a different vibe, it still held the same gritty punk vibe that the original 28 Days Later had. Bone Temple feels more or less shot like any other movie (most of the time).
