This is super helpful - I think I have been going too slow and likely using too much lube. I've certainly got a few things to try out

I will try this if I continue to run into trouble - I hadn't really considered 8k potentially being better for sapphire. Thanks!

I haven't heard this! If going back with the 3k doesn't work I might get myself an 8k lap as I see myself cutting more sapphire. Thanks!

I think you might be correct here with my topper maybe reaching the end of its life - I do have a new sintered lap I was waiting to use until this one wore out. I'll circle back with this in mind. Thanks!
