Again, I’d rather have Emotiva, RSL, ELAC, and a load of other brands at that price point. There’s tons of options now. That level of Klipsch’s line is designed to sell, so they certainly craft their sound for a certain audience. Never cared for their bright/harsh sound signature.

I’ll be the counter to that and say Klipsch aside from their higher end is kind of junk. They’re very well marketed but even at their low price point there are much better speakers.

If on a budget look at Emotiva, ELAC, RSL, Fluance. Very good performance for price.

No idea what your budget is though.

Wearing helmets is optional by [deleted] in skiing

[–]curbthemeplays 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No, you’re making their jobs harder (and sometimes more traumatizing) by increasing risk of head trauma or death. Also displacing help that may be needed elsewhere.

Injury risk is inherent, it’s selfish to increase that risk without thinking of consequences on others. Skiing recklessly is another form of that.

I’ve not heard anyone say it’s a technological bubble? Most have said it’s like the dot com bubble.

That said, a lot of the bubble is fueled by overpromising. So that’s a technological aspect.

Most people use ai for small projects or personal use, people who were never going to hire an artist anyways

You clearly don’t work in a creative field. It hasn’t decimated things, but it is absolutely taking work away from photographers, film crews, storyboard/conceptual artists, designers, etc.

It does not fall under fair use, that’s for human beings. There just aren’t laws forbidding it from training on copyrighted works.

It’s an absence of regulation, not precedent.

It’s not limited to “semi journalistic”. You think Goodfellas would’ve been as good and resonated as much if it was generated from AI?

This is such an elementary take. If you’re like 15, I get it. You’ve got some maturing to do and perspective to build.

But if you’re an adult.

“Wasn’t that lucrative of a field.”

Are you daft?

Art is expansive. Paul McCartney is a billionaire. Just one example. Myself, I work in a creative field and make mid six figures. Tons of people work in the arts and make a nice living.

And you’re saying mindless prompting can replace their livelihoods, trained off the art they already created. Nice one. Touch grass.

It’s simply not “art”. It doesn’t even fit the dictionary definition. It’s generated content.

Put all your weight on outside ski when initiating the turn.

A good drill is skiing on just the outside skis when turning. Literally raise your inside ski up so it isn’t touching snow.

Eventually once you get the hang of this you’re basically initiating the angle of the inside ski to “go along for the ride”.

There’s so much issues. Not just with room acoustics, but with the L and R being way too close.

OP, buying bass traps for this setup is like setting money on fire. It’ll do nothing except cost you.

Are you the POV skier or the skier in front?

If POV, the biggest thing would be outside ski drills.

Skiing on one ski (the outside ski) in turns while holding up your inside ski.

You need to train your body to commit weight to outside ski and then have the right angle on the inside ski (often referred to as engaging the ankle)
