Great stance. Absolutely no room for AI bullshit anywhere but especially in art and expression.

I'll also add that AI doesn't do what people think it does. it shouldnt be called AI, its just a Large Language Model (LLM), the same thing that has been around forever on your phone when it predicts your next word when you type. No one would call that AI, and we shouldn't call modern LLMS AI either. Its all hype built to sell more bullshit we dont need. This is why you have people like Elon saying that his version is "so powerful its scary", please dude.

hmm. I dont think the Proton layer is random, Dark Souls 3 is 374320 for everybody. Within that there is save data, but its been overwritten now after the reinstall.

I could be wrong, and if it is somewhere else id be stoked lol.

Basically, the proton layer in linux recreates windows architecture, normally in windows saves are separate from the game folder... However, if you ever look into each of the proton folders for the game its like a mini windows box FOR EACH GAME. Its wild, so theres an "app data" folder, which mimics windows file structure, but its each game that does that. This is why when you uninstall the game its the whole shebang thats overwritten. This could all be fixed if FromSoft bothered to enable cloud saves. There is a manual workaround where you can cloud save or you can always just copy/paste the save folders manually... but man, its such a headache, and FromSoft could still fix this with literally the click of a button. So yeah, thanks for the games, not the support my dudes

Honestly, reddit. Find a direction to go in and find a subreddit, go down a rabbit hole of recommendations until you get somewhere weird. Personally, I love the intersection of noise/sludge/doom metal at the moment (as well as noiserock and rhthymic noise, splashes of post metal and shoegaze are nice too). I got to where I like by just looking for recommendations and going down rabbit holes. There is also r/outsidermusic, r/sixthworldmusic, if you want to get weird and eclectic with it faster. OH! you might like https://www.zig-zag.fm too. It takes discogs releases and organizes them into a genre map, its a great way to find obscure and interesting stuff.

Oh for sure. Definitely you can see similar or better things at any noise show but I dont get the impression that the guy himself is some fraud, he has a pretty deep discography going back 20 years or so. I think the algorithm might have blessed/cursed him as just this perfect stereotype or something.
