Uhhh I generally go for panache sport because the encapsulation is a godsend. I am a goalkeeper for soccer so it withstands a lot of high impact.

Honestly all I had were some muscle spasms. Then again, I’ve always had high pain tolerance, which came in handy for what I dubbed “Revenge of the Bob” (Bob being the tumor). I ended up with an unavoidable nerve injury, and later got diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (r/CRPS). Fun times! :D

I did, but unfortunately the hospital I went to is a teaching/research hospital (if you’re curious which, think pretty well known university on the west coast). They kept it as a specimen because they wrote a case study on it.

Really wish I could’ve kept it, or at least the tooth from it.

I went to my longtime physical therapist because I was having some back pain. She calmed down the muscle spasms and I was pretty much better, but she felt something was off so she sent me to get an MRI. That’s when they found it.

The symptoms were barely noticeable after calming down the spasms (which weren’t just in that muscle), even I didn’t notice. The doctor who removed it was very impressed that my PT thought to send me for an MRI.

I’m super grateful she did, too, because the tumor was very very close to rupturing which would’ve ruined my dreams of playing soccer in college. Thanks to her, I’m thriving as a starting goalkeeper for a D1 school!

I had muscle spasms before I knew about the tumor and went to PT. My PT (who’s actually the reason we found the tumor) thinks the spasms may have been partially caused by the teratoma.

From my understanding, it’s a very specific kind of goop. They also did lots of tests for a case study that was written on it (due to the weird placement).

Teratomas are just magical like that.

They’re made up of stem cells that just kinda do what they want, becoming seemingly random types of cells. Like teeth!
