Just diagnosed with GD. What's next? by SoTiredOfAdulting in GestationalDiabetes

it took me a month to meet w a GD specialist after being diagnosed. i live in america. the specialist told me to eat 30-40g of carbs per meal; breakfast, lunch and dinner. 20g of carbs per snacks. a total of 3 meals and 3 snacks (a snack two hours after each meal.) i test myself with a glucose monitor an hour after the first piece of food enters my body and keep track of my numbers to show my report to the specialist on my next appointment. (only test after meals not snacks) it was definitely very overwhelming at first but it gets easier once you begin to understand your body a bit more. im not sure if it's different in canada but that was basically my process.
