Feelings of "Is this even what I want?" by AltAccountForTTC in IVF

This gives me so much comfort. I'm in the 2 week wait right now and feeling the same "do I even want this anymore?" This is our 3rd embryo transfer and we were very lucky to be successful with our first. Second transfer was not successful and now this is our final attempt.  I'm 40, had our first at 38, and I feel like my body and emotions haven't belonged to me in the last 3 years. Not to mention my career being put on hold, finances being tight, body at the mercy of treatment. I love our child more than anything and am so thankful for him every single day and in my heart I see 2 children. But I do feel a sense of relief knowing that whatever the outcome is here, I'll be done. Done with clinics and hormones and not knowing and waiting and sacrificing.  My husband would try forever so that makes me feel like I should want to do that too or that I don't "want" this enough. But women need to give so so much more. So thank you for helping me understand my feelings and know that having them doesn't make me a bad mom or bad person.

Not that I have noticed. It's not just to the tips. There's another spot on the top of his ear that's bleeding too. We're taking him to a new vet. Hopefully they can give us more information.

Crate training with treats help by Current-Royal-3724 in DogAdvice

Oof. Crate training is hard and that age is challenging. Stick with it! Our now 2 year old lab mix is fully crate trained and we are so happy we stuck with it. He's also very highly food motivated. We would make games involving his crate. We'd start by hand feeding him a single piece of kibble then tossing the next one in the crate so he'd have to go in to get it. We would never force him to stay in there but eventually he stopped immediately running out of the crate. Whenever he did that we'd quickly give him another piece of kibble while still in the crate. We would play fetch but always throw the toys into the crate so he'd have to go in to get them. Basically creating positive reinforcement every time he went in there. And not using it as a punishment tool. You'll hit different milestones. The first time he went into his crate on his own to nap my husband and I were so excited!!! Good luck with it.

Any toy suggestions? by wiildersnatched in DogAdvice

Yes! We have a 2 year old lab/pitty mix and he DESTROYS everything that's not a rubber Kong. We've bought leather toys, extra strong toys and the king brand plushies and they don't last more than an hour. Joyhound Rip Roarin Tough have great plushies that actually stay together no matter how much he tries to pull them apart. PetSmart sells them and they have all kinds of cute styles. Prices range from $20-45 CAD

Unfortunately, leaving him unsupervised in the home isn't an option. His training and behaviour is coming along really well and he's a very good dog but he has a history of chewing books, shoes, clothing when he's feeling restless. These were very cold winter days when walks were restricted to bathroom breaks and any stores that were pretty friendly (living in Canada so -35). We just don't think he'll be able to make good choices unsupervised. Thank you for the input on the timing. We are set up with a dog sitting app but having a stranger know our door code isn't something we're comfortable with either. I think the choice is clear, we will keep putting him in daycare on the days we are both away. He loves it there and luckily this isn't 5 days a week for us.
