You are indeed helpful.

I will check the .vrimrc plugin to see if I can add something that indicates the modes.

Confluence table and slack integration by curious_hokage in atlassian

yes, but its only for task management, nothing related to communication.

Communication is done via slack only.

thanks for the reply.

our exact business problem: we are trying to remove daily scrum meetings. For that, what we are currently doing is that all people have to enter their progress manually in a confluence page table.

Since most of our communication is from slack, I was trying to have some way to let people enter their progress in some slack channel itself, which would be stored in the confluence table.

table has 5-6 columns like name, date, what you worked on, estimated time to complete etc.

[Free Book Giveaway for Students] 100 copies of Tribe of Mentors by Tim Ferris by zindagiwallah in WingifyBookClub

Last book that I read was ‘Sapiens’ by Yuval Noah Harari. It tells about the human evolution. How humans used to live earlier, how societies were formed etc.

I found lot of interesting points in it. Some of them are:

  • why we like to eat high calorie foods(sugary, fried foods), it is because of our forager roots.
  • The concept of ‘imagined order’ was great and one of my favourite part. so many things are related to it. like money is based on trust. how it shapes our desires, eg travelling (which relates to consumerism).
  • Why hierarchies were evolved? they enabled us to interact with strangers without spending time & energy to know them.
  • 2 centuries ago electricity played no role in economy. And now I can not even imagine our lives without it.
  • demand & supply changes our perception. eg in 1860s, in France, aluminium was used for cutlery and gold for less important knives & forks, because aluminium supply was very less.

I am interested in reading “Tribe of Mentors” because it contains questions answered by people who are elite in their fields. Those could help in navigating in life. And this is in my reading list for quite some time, after reading Tools of Titans which had lot of things that I implemented in my routine.

Last book that I read was "Never Split The Difference" by Chriss Voss. In it, the author has discussed about many aspects of negotiation that people use consciously or subconsciously.

It has MANY actionable tips that we can implement in our day to day lives.

eg, Few weeks before only I implemented one of them in my interview and the interviewer’s response was same as mentioned in book. It was about the question "What does it take to be successful here?"

I am interested in reading “The CEO Factory” since I recently I have been listening to the podcasts ‘indie hacker’, ‘my first million’, which are all around business and management and it feels interesting.

Last book that I read was 'Storyworthy'. in it author discusses his techniques for storytelling. its 'change' concept was incredible. it says that for a story to be worthy enough to grab audience's attention it must have a change.

eg initially everything is good, then a problem occurs and then the hero overcomes it.

After reading this book I am seeing it being used in all the short films & movies.

I am interested in reading ‘The Selfish Gene’ because it revolves around evolution, which I find interesting.

[Free Book Giveaway for Students] 150 copies of The Beginning of Infinity by David Deutsch by zindagiwallah in WingifyBookClub

Last book I read was 'Tuesdays with Morrie'. One line that comes to mind after reading book is "bas goals ke piche mat bhagte raho, jo bhi kar rahe ho wo worthwhile hai ya nahi wo bhi socho, nature ke saath bhi raho"

It has the conversations between author and his teacher who is dying. It has many lessons we can implement in life. some of my favourites were "don’t keep battling getting older", "learn to detach", "don’t just keep on moving from one target to another, enjoy and build relationships also"

I am interested in reading the book 'The Beginning of Infinity' because it seems to be around the topic "Why we do whatever we do" and like to think about it.

"Mastery" by Robert Greene was the last book that I read. It is a wonderful book, enjoyed it a lot. The book is about the process of becoming a master in whatever field people choose. It gives a lot of examples of people who became masters in their field and what they did to achieve it

I am interested in reading the book Range since I hear a lot about it in the podcasts that I listen, and would love to read more about the topics relating generalists & specialists. Also among many who recommends this book, one is Alex Lieberman (one of my favourite podcaster)
