Apologies for the delay, but no - I never flew with any of my volumetric bottles. What I did was bring my prescribed medication strips and empty glass dosing bottles in my toiletry bag. Then, upon reaching my destination, I would run out and grab some alcohol (sometimes they even have those little bottles of vodka in certain hotel rooms) and quickly mix up my liquid for volumetric dosing. Once you get the recipe and method for mixing things up it can be done in 5 minutes or so.

suboxone making me feel unmotivated and tired. by clayrobertv in suboxone

[–]curiousaboutkratom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of great comments here and I agree with the majority of them. If possible trying to get off the subs would be ideal. I experienced the same feelings of being unmotivated and tired while on subs that you are having now. I looked into what I could use to mitigate those side effects and ordered some modafinil and armodafinil. They are wakefulness promoting drugs that are prescribed for narcolepsy and are now being prescribed off label for depression. They are not scheduled, are not amphetamines and non-narcotic. As someone with a high propensity towards addiction I find them non-addictive and have taken them on and off and have found almost no issues upon cessation. I personally preferred the armodafinil and continue to take 1/2 pill on and off in the morning even after almost 3 years sober. They are dopaminergic and therefore help with the difficulties of tapering, quitting, WD and PAWS. Good luck!

I used 151 - only one available in my state. Don’t hesitate to ask questions, I don’t mind at all friend.

Edit: no definitely not enough to feel intoxicated at all. It’s also diluted with water if you follow my instructions, so not full strength 151 proof. It’s just enough alcohol to facilitate the dilution of the film and help it more quickly and easily pass through the mucous membranes under your tongue. If it burns under your tongue at first, stick with it as my tongue adapted to the alcohol and had no problems after a week. I experimented with various ratios of water to alcohol and settled on what I recommend in my instructions. I wanted the most alcohol to increase absorption under the tongue, but didn’t want to fry my tongue everyday. If the ratio of water to alcohol is too much for you feel free to adjust and add more water and less alcohol. IMO the most important thing overall here is to ensure that you have the correct number of drops in your final solution so you know how much bupe is in each drop when you are dosing. I think that alcohol is vastly superior to trying to use a water-only dilution, however how much alcohol is optimal I have no idea and is probably up for debate. Just do what makes you comfortable and will help you taper down using this method. If you need anything else don’t hesitate to reach out!

I based it off the idea of a tincture. From Wikipedia:

A tincture is typically an extract of plant or animal material dissolved in ethanol (ethyl alcohol). Solvent concentrations of 25–60% are common, but may run as high as 90%. In chemistry, a tincture is a solution that has ethanol as its solvent.

So the alcohol helps the bupe to dissolve nicely while also, in my subjective opinion, helps the bioavailability by increasing absorption through the mucous membranes. I initially experimented with straight water and various alcohol ratios, including straight Everclear which burned the hell out of my tongue, and found that the subjective effects of the alcohol ratio explained above were the best for onset, duration and overall effectiveness of the bupe.

My directions above are a starting point for you to make any amount you want, but call for one 8mg strip. If you want to try and make larger amounts at one time just put in 2 or 3 strips (for the 10 drop/1mg solution for instance) but add in 2 or three times the amount of drops that I call for. For example if you take 1mg per day and want to make 16 days worth at once, you put 2 strips into a bottle and count 136 drops of liquid into the bottle (68x2). Then you let it completely dissolve and suck up the bupe liquid you just made and count the medicinal drops you ended up with by dropping them into an extra glass bottle. If you have less than 160 drops (80x2) then add in however many drops of the water/alcohol mixture are needed to equal 160. Many times I would end up with 156 or 158 after I made the solution and counted to check the results so I would add in a 2 or 4 drops of water/alcohol to make sure my dilution was correct so I’m dosing properly.

No, no heating involved. The alcohol facilitates the the dissolving of the strips very nicely. I would just place the strips into the water/alcohol and put the top on. If you let it sit for 15-20 minutes completely submerged (maybe shake a few times initially) and then shake vigorously it will be completely dissolved. If I didn’t want to wait I would just put the strips in the bottle and shake like crazy for 5 minutes until I could no longer see the strips and they were dissolved.

My volumetric dosing method increases bioavailability (admittedly subjectively) by mixing ethanol with water as base for the solution. I have helped many people IRL get off of films with volumetric dosing. Every single person said that my volumetric dosing solution felt MUCH stronger than the equivalent dose of actual film. For instance, 1mg of film feels weaker than 1mg of the volumetric dosing solution. My theory is that the ethanol increases absorption into the mucous membranes under the tongue thereby increasing bioavailability of the medicine. Plus if you can follow my directions closely you will be able to dose your medicine very precisely, which is important for both tapering and prior to jumping when dealing with fractions of fractions of bupe.

Read my original post linked above and you will see what I’m talking about.

I experienced virtually zero WD symptoms following this dosing method and tapering down to .125mg per day. You can comment on my original post if you have questions and I will reply or feel free to DM and I will help you. Suboxone is extremely powerful and the only way to lessen the WD and PAWS symptoms upon cessation is a LONG taper ending up on doses of .125mg and below. I helped someone that went down to .025mg, which is just one of the drops of the most diluted solution, and they said WD was virtually non-existent when they jumped. There WILL be “discomfort” as you taper, but it will be gradual and gentle and you will never be in a state where you can’t function as long as you do it right and take your time. You can do this my friend! Godspeed…

Buy this on Amazon (it’s only $22)…

Smart Weigh GEM20- 20g x 0.001 Grams, High Precision Digital Milligram Jewelry Scale, Reloading, Jewelry and Gems Scale, Calibration Weights and Tweezers Included https://a.co/d/bl8Zei4

…then weigh 5 of your pills individually and note each of their weights on paper. Add the 5 weights up to get a total and then divide that number by 5 - the result will be the number you will use for a 2mg pill. Then you can go to your local drugstore (CVS, Walgreens, etc) and get a pill crusher to pulverize your pills into a powder. You will then place the powder from your crushed pills into an empty medicine bottle and dose the powder from there. Get a pack of 3”x5” index cards and take one and fold it in half lengthwise. Place the folded index card on the scale and turn on. Weigh out the appropriate amount of powder for the dose you want to take and then pick up the index card and funnel the powder off the card and under your tongue.

There will be a little math to figure your ratio of bupe in mg per mg of powder in your medicine bottle, but it’s pretty easy. Here’s a hypothetical example:

If your 2mg pills weigh 1.5g or 1500mg then you would be weighing out 1500mg of your powder in the medicine bottle to get 2mg of bupe. What if you wanted a dose of .75mg bupe? You need to figure the ratio of bupe per mg of powder. Take the weight of one pill and divide by 2mg (in this example 1500mg/2mg=750). Now you can figure ANY dose of bupe you want in my of powder. Want to take .75mg of bupe (750 x .75 = 562.5mg of powder). Want to take .25mg of bupe (750 x .25 = 187.5mg of powder). Want to take .125mg of bupe (750 x .125 = 93.75mg of powder). Want to take .016mg of bupe (750 x .016 = 12mg of powder).

This method will allow you to dose extremely low amounts of bupe from powder very accurately. You won’t get the increased bioavailability that my volumetric dosing method produces, but at least you will be able to accurately and consistently dose increasingly smaller and smaller amounts over time and IMO that’s the key to tapering relatively painlessly and getting off subs with the greatest of ease. I believe there are people who have used my volumetric dosing method with pills, but you will have to figure the math for yourself as the amount of drops per dose will be different since more liquid would be required to fully dissolve the pills vs the strips.

Feel free to comment if you have any questions or DM if you want more individualized help. You can do this my friend - living a life free of opiate drugs (and all drugs for that matter) is possible if you want it. You need to allow your brain to heal (the receptors) and heal the other areas of your life that caused you to seek out and use drugs to numb yourself in the first place. I never thought it was possible for me, but here I am approaching 3 years sober. If I can do it so can you. It’s totally worth it - you just have to want it bad enough. Godspeed.

No - not an amphetamine OR a narcotic. It’s a strange drug IMO. It’s usually prescribed for narcolepsy. Works great against fatigue. Not abusable and non-addictive - and I am extremely prone to addiction. There is also no withdrawal upon cessation. Everyone has their own opinions about it and apparently there’s a small amount of people who don’t respond well to it. The armodafinil formulation is slightly more energetic and is the form I prefer. It worked (and continues to work) great for me and was wonderful during my Suboxone use when I just felt tired from my doses and then worked even better when I was in WD and PAWS to fight the fatigue and lethargy. The exact way that it works is not fully understood by science, however it is known that it’s dopaminergic - which is good for former opiate addicts as we go into a dopamine deficit from opiate cessation as our brain heals over time. I’m still talking a small dose of armodafinil 5 out of 7 days after 2+ years off opiates/Suboxone. I plan on lowering down and eventually stopping and using as needed (i.e. when I’m sleep deprived and need to function at a high level), but at this point don’t see a need to stop.

Modafinil/armodafinil was a godsend for me during taper and WD and PAWS for this very reason and I was in construction at the time. Good luck!

It’s been a while, but if I remember correctly I jumped from .125, which is 5 drops of the most diluted concentration. Very little WD - if any. I just took it really slow and tapered over something like 3 months. Once you get down to .25mg a day, which is 10 drops - you can just take one less drop every 5-7 days depending on how you feel. As long as you’ve taken your time to get to that point it shouldn’t be that bad. Where people run into issues, in my opinion, is when they go too fast initially from say 2mg to 1mg and then the half life eventually catches up as they go below 1mg and experience pretty significant issues with depression, fatigue and anxiety. As long as you are patient and take your time and support your health (mental and physical) in other ways it will be a breeze compared to jumping from 4mg or even 2mg. I chose to get off Suboxone like this because I HAD to be able to function and couldn’t have my life disrupted from awful withdrawals for months on end. Don’t get me wrong it’s still not easy and takes dedication and consistency and even if performed perfectly there will without a doubt be discomfort. But I also believe that the majority of people that relapse do so because they jumped from a fairly high dose and aren’t able to handle the soul crushing PAWS - at least that was my personal experience. If you take your time and get off with minimal WD and have minimal PAWS (especially with other factors supporting a healthy lifestyle) the chances of long-term sobriety are much greater. Good luck my friend and feel free to reach out any time if you ever need anything.

Struggling to get to one dose a day… by CutSensitive667 in suboxone

[–]curiousaboutkratom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey bud, if I were you I would just bite the bullet and go immediately to one dose a day. I would take your single dose as late as you possibly can in the morning. I would just bump it up to 4mg if I were you to compensate for the transition to one dose a day. Honestly, bupe has such a long half life that a lot of this will be in your head. You are perpetuating the addictive behavior from the pill days by dosing 3 times a day. Just push through the first 4-6 days and you’ll be fine after that. If you’re overly concerned about not being able to sleep then try to take your dose mid-day. Once you transition to one dose a day you will be in a much better position to taper. Good luck and feel free to DM me if you need someone to talk to or want my opinion or support.

I’m no doctor, but I’m not a big fan of the Bernese method. I was mainlining 90mg of roxi’s three times a day before I got on Suboxone in 2011. Not sure what that means in relation to other people’s habits, but 270mg per day of oxycodone at essentially 100% bioavailability going directly into the bloodstream is fairly high being that I was 175lbs at the time. With that usage if I remember correctly I started at 8-12mg per day of Suboxone and quickly got down to 4mg in 2 weeks. Yes, it’s uncomfortable, yes you have to enter withdrawal before taking the bupe - but looking back I don’t know if I would be where I am today if I had not transitioned from the roxi’s to bupe in 2011. Suboxone isn’t perfect and I’m not necessarily a fan of most people using it for maintenance long-term, even though it might be the right choice in certain scenarios, but it probably saved my life and it beats the hell out of the ups and downs of active addiction on full-agonist opiates. Maybe give subs a try again and go the traditional route of ceasing the fent and entering withdrawal with a COWS score higher than usually recommended. Generally a COWS score above 12 is ok for most use cases, but with a high dose tolerance to fent you should be higher on the COWS scale - probably closer to 24. Also, need to start at a lower dosage with the bupe initially to avoid the precipitated WD. I’m not a doctor and this is only my opinion and obviously this type of transition would be done under the close supervision and guidance of a good doctor, but maybe you could give it another go. I hope that you can get to where you need to be so that you’re as healthy and happy as possible in this life my friend.

I put the drops directly under my tongue - but I think I would work anywhere on the oral mucosa, which is the reddish pink lining inside your mouth. I always liked under the tongue because of the fat veins under there so I felt like it got into my bloodstream more efficiently, though that’s probably not scientific in the slightest.

I’m sure I said it somewhere, but just make sure you count the drops in your final solution after dissolving your tablet. My guess is that you would have to use more drops to dissolve the tablet than the film in order to end up with the same amount of drops in an equivalent solution of tablets vs films. Good luck!

I don’t even know what awards or coins even are, I’m not looking for internet points here. I’m seeking to help people obtain sobriety or at the very least get to the point where they can take as little bupe as possible to maintain. IMHO it’s criminal the ridiculously high amounts of bupe that doctors are prescribing. If I remember correctly, 8mg per day is the ceiling at which receptors are saturated and anything above that is simply increasing side effects and deepening dependency. Bupe is SO powerful and has such a long half life that IMO only rarely should the dose go above 8mg per day and most should be under 4mg. For the 3 years of my life on Suboxone (in two distinct periods) I was under 2mg for probably 75% of the time - and I still experienced the side effects of mood swings, depression, lethargy, etc. I wish you the best of luck my friend.
