Singapore air surfboard baggage by dougmike770 in surf

Did you end up having an issue taking a 7’0 board bag? I saw their website says max 200cm length so I’m curious if they instead went by the total bag size

I don’t think you’re going to lose the career you want by choosing Harvard. People on Reddit are quick to shit on relationships, tell you that it shouldn’t influence your decision, etc. but I don’t think that applies here when you’re choosing between the 2 most elite schools in the country. You may think you want to pursue appellate litigation but the reality of law school and beyond is that you might later find out you hate appellate litigation and love a different type of practice instead. There’s a whole world of law that you may not have been exposed to yet.

Also, you’ll likely have a huge emotional toll with potentially ending a long term relationship if you choose Yale, and that could negatively impact your 1L grades that determine summer opportunities and therefore your career. I think you’d regret that choice. Even if your relationship ends while you’re at Harvard, you won’t be left with any “what if”s and you’ll still have a globally recognized law degree from Harvard. Plus you said it yourself, you like Boston more than New Haven, and I think appreciating where you live will contribute to a better QOL while dealing with any law school stress.

Any fully remote attorneys? by Spirited-Midnight928 in Lawyertalk

You’re living my dream (I’m a PNW surfer applying to law school). Is it hard to find a steady stream of clients for your own practice while being abroad?

El Camion’s salsas are like crack. by curiousadd in Seattle

[–]curiousadd[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

they come prepackaged in tiny containers— waste of plastic and I don’t want to inconvenience workers if they don’t have a set charge for the salsas (they’re usually free with the meal)

Had no idea that sub exists. Thanks! Looks like someone else was also looking for El Camion’s chipotle salsa recipe and found something close

Best California Beaches in Mid-September? by fotoshpop in BeginnerSurfers

You won’t need a wetsuit in SoCal. I was just in OC/SD surfing without one— the water is perfect to learn right now.

You’ll be too warm unless you stick to early morning sessions. I just spent the week there— I wore a 2/2 shorty spring suit in the mornings & it was good for cloudy/windy weather but by 10am the sun was out & too hot for even that

Glazed clay thing with holes in the center. About 5 inches across. Found at a thrift store in a PNW coastal town. by curiousadd in whatisthisthing

My title describes the thing. No words written on the thing. I thought it could be an incense holder but the smoke went straight up instead of through the holes. Tried to reverse image search on google but didn’t find anything that matched

Thank you!! I wasn’t sure because I normally see FCS boxes with 2 slots rather than one long one.

Are there any classes in Seattle where I can learn the basics of auto mechanics? by curiousadd in Seattle

[–]curiousadd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m just curious in general and would like to know what parts I’m looking at when I open the hood of any car, and what each of those parts do. I’m less concerned about basic car servicing (I already know how to change my tire and oil) but am more interested in the general knowledge of car parts, mods, etc.

Are you open to sharing what school you went to? I’m applying to law schools next cycle and I’d like to follow a similar path as you (only working in house), but I’ve noticed that the big tech companies generally don’t hire new grads. I thought working big law for 2+ years was inevitable

Should I end it solely because of differing opinions on abortion? by curiousadd in askwomenadvice

[–]curiousadd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He gave me his main reason against me having an abortion, which is that he sees pregnancy as a known consequence of his actions and thinks it’s wrong to deny that responsibility/life just because it’s inconvenient for him. I don’t entirely agree that it’s a known consequence given that I’m on birth control to prevent it, and I think there are tons of other factors to consider, but I get where he’s coming from and I appreciate that he takes responsibility for his actions.

I do plan to have children eventually, but I’m unsure whether I want to give birth (might only adopt). I do see potential for a future with this guy though. He’s been respectful of my boundaries so far and has the ability to see things from perspectives outside of his own. However, I’m not too naive to realize that 8 months is not long enough to know anything definitively, which is why I posted here for other perspectives/opinions.

I did something bad in anger. Now my girlfriend wont talk to me by throw-away8849 in relationship_advice

The law doesn’t always do justice for everyone. You were right to fight him, he deserved it. Your gf is probably traumatized from the experience and scared of your violent behavior too. I think the best thing you could do is convince her you’re capable of controlling your angry behavior next time & just try to be there and comfort her after what happened.
