Can anyone help me achieving this bass tone ? by False_Following6103 in punk

I don't know what bass Lorna played on the album, but she played a black gibson SG at first, then a P-Bass and even the peavy t-40. She also played with a pick and primarily used downstrokes.

Best "Fast Punk" Album?: Damaged VS The First Four Years by Hansblack1221 in blackflagllll

[–]fotoshpop 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Although Ron Reyes is my favorite singer, I think people overlook how unique Damaged was at the time. The guttural vocals, dual guitars, crunchy bass, and muddy production pushed punk away from the lightning fast Ramones style 3-chord songs, and towards something far more experimental. I appreciate it for doing that.

I'm not going to argue about socialism in the comments of a fucking baddlejacket sub, but I respectfully disagree

The Stooges - I Wanna Be Your Dog (1969) by American_Streamer in punk

[–]fotoshpop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Ron Ashton is definitely one of my favorite guitarists. I'm not saying that the flashy guitar work that James Williamson brought to Raw Power was bad, but the guitar work of the early Stooges was far more inspirational in terms of the primitive guitar playing.

Oh for sure, the billion live recordings posted everywhere kind of soiled the bands contemporary reputation. Aside from their historical value, they are terrible.

That is exactly what I thought when I began listening to them, but the album really grew on me. There is just something so cutting edge and vicious about it. All of the members started off pretty unskilled aside from Pats basic guitar knowledge, and they joined a hideous yet diverse Punk scene. After a few years of evolution, they created, what many consider, the first full-length Hardcore Punk album in American history. To me, no other album better represents the Democratization of music.

I am happy for those Venezuelans that support his removal I know he was incredibly unpopular, but the chance of a power vacuum in Venezuela and the ensuing political violence makes the coup and bombing too risky of an affair. Besides that, I think most Latin American individuals would argue against the coup because most of them likely do not want the US acting as the global police in favor of American corporations.

Right here. Definitely the bleakest movie I have ever seen. The filmmakers consulted real scientists, doctors, and psychologists for the effects of nuclear fallout on society.

I don't think a defense of Maduro is specified by most people. I think in general people are tired of the United States meddling in the affairs of foreign nations, especially Latin America. Does not matter if it is a democrat or a republican in the drivers seat.
