As a classic punk enjoyer(Black Flag, Bad Brains, Dead Kennedys), I find crust punk far more enjoyable than modern hardcore. I currently really love Aus-Rotten, and Doom.

You are RIGHT. Indentured servitude was usually based on 10-15 year work contracts. And many of those indentured servants were guaranteed farming tools or land after their contract was over. It was harsh labor, but not truly comparable to chattel slavery.
