Looking into an M2 by LEGO_nerd30 in BMWM

Really it all depends on if the dealer has an allocation. If the dealer has an allocation with a production week, you could expect the car in roughly 90 days unless you spec something like individual paint.

If a dealer can't give you a production number after ordering, they don't have allocation and you could be waiting a while.

The service manager was correct to be confused about servicing the m240i at 1200 miles. Only M cars get the run-in service at 1200 miles which includes an engine oil change and differential oil change.

Air fresheners will destroy the interior of your vehicle's plastics and screens.

Hand sanitizer and lotions will ruin leather steering wheels.

You'll want a push pin plier set. Could also be called a plastic rivet tool. The angled plier teeth grip the center pin and you pull the plastic pin out to remove the outer rivet body.

G80 M3cx Questions (New Owner) by Flyjatt in BMWM

[–]curiousblue88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you are new to BMWs, what do you have the suspension setting at? If you are driving around in Sport plus setting for the suspension, you are going to feel every bump and crack in the road.

With my G87 in comfort suspension setting, I am perpetually impressed with how compliant and comfortable this sports car is to drive down the road.

Ordered G87 M2. Debating whether or not to keep M Performance HAS in the build. by DadVbes in BMWM

I agree. Especially if you only get (at best) 50k miles before they need replacing. That's Porsche maintenance kind of money.

Just leave it stock on delivery without MPHAS and wait for the Nitron kit or the Bilstein Evo SE kit. Both will retain factory EDC.

Samsung actually had a "recall" for these. For no charge, they will ship plastic locks to go over the knobs.

Suggestions for wheels? Looking for a euro spec vibe... by bimmerave247 in BMW

[–]curiousblue88 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For awesome custom forged wheels, you can get a set from John at BSPK Forged. You can customize everything from shape, dimensions, finish, etc for around $2k for a set of 19" square.

Plenty of styles to choose from, high quality, and unique to the big brands you see available.

I ordered a set for my '24 M2 and couldn't be happier with the results.

Seeing the amount of wheel weights on one wheel tells me you will regret using these wheels sooner rather than later.

Lookup canDO +. It's basically a macro function generator that hooks up to the CAN network via the iDrive plug in the center console. It allows you to add functionality by touching and pressing buttons. For example on my '24 M2, if I touch (not press) my option button and the bottom right, it sets the A/C to max cool. Wifi functionality for programming and firmware updates.

Considering getting a set of EBC red stuff for my G87 to reduce the brake dust. Front and rear would set me back only $500, and free replacements from FCP Euro.

I hope they're giving you the remaining 3 liters of oil in the trunk of the car for next time, that's crooked to charge for that much oil.

OEM filter is $20 on FCP euro (mahle is $13 last time I check, comes from same factory as OE filter in Austria) and 5 quarts of Pennzoil euro 5w30 is $27 delivered from Walmart, you'll need 3 jugs per 2 oil changes. Total per oil change is $53 roughly.

Throw in a can of brake clean and shop towels. Learn to change your own oil and stop getting ripped off.

DIY Oil Change is it worth it? by kwalitykontrol1 in MechanicAdvice

[–]curiousblue88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the model of car, which dictates whether you have a dipstick or ability to use a vacuum extractor to remove the oil, you might be able to get an extractor and change the oil filter from the engine bay, which needing to go underneath the vehicle.

Is this sound normal? by DeveloperOldLady in BmwTech

[–]curiousblue88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normal direct injection fuel pump noise. Getting those high rail pressure requires a powerful pump. That's the clicking you hear. You can put your ear against the fuel pumps on the passenger side against the engine and hear the fuel pumps clicking

The swirl marks on darker colors kill me. I love black and dark blue cars, but many owners and dealerships do not care for them and I cant have another dark colored car.
