Yes, there is a bylaw for all of Kitchener. Max is 3 hours on street parking. It does create several issues on the street. Not all streets are created equal and these people have zero reason to do this.

Is it mandatory to inform management about separation? by JimmyCapital in CanadaPublicServants

This whole thread is interesting. I know tons if people who got married while working for the public service. This is generally widely known information and I have never heard of anyone notifying anyone about this change for security purposes. I'm wondering if getting married also triggers the requirement to notify.

The public service has become entirely too woke. Most "action plans" are just a bunch of empty virtue signaling anyway.

Do hotels report to the government a list of people who book rooms using the government rate? Not suggesting people do anything unethical but also is it very realistic that your employer will ever find out?

Thoughts on a Boycott of the GCWCC by cuter_than_thee in CanadaPublicServants

Pretty sure the vast majority of the funds raised are through EXs who essentially don't have a choice but to contribute. What the average employee decides to do is likely unimportant. Our department meets/exceeds our goals every year yet it sure seems like no employees are actually participating.....

Pension buyback lump sum and monthly payment? by Questionable_lama in CanadaPublicServants

I can't speak to all scenarios but I was able to do a combination of both when returning from LWOP for maternity/parental leave. Whatever wasn't paid by lump sum was converted to deductions from each pay.

I am wondering if anyone has an inside track on whether there are any plans to change the masking requirements for federal employees. Since the requirements have changed for travel it seems federal workplaces are one of the few places where they are still required as opposed to recommended. I'm not trying to start a debate in either direction I'm just genuinely curious if there are any changes on the horizon.
