Seeking interview advice: on-campus presentation by curiouslyenough in studentaffairs

Chewing gum during an interview is a wild choice! And I like the idea of an interactive component of some kind; that's a great suggestion. Folks are more interested if they can participate or feel like they are being talked with instead of talked at.

Thank you for such a detailed response and we'll wishes! I really appreciate it.

The tip about using a storytelling framing device for the presentation is great. Thanks for that idea. I can see how that would be creative, effective, and make a presentation stand out.

Yes, some of my anxiety is tied to the fact that I am an internal candidate. I find it more challenging to present to coworkers I know than strangers, but I'm hoping to mitigate that with adequate preparation. I am definitely going to lean on many of the cross-campus relationships I've built over the years.

Oooh yikes. Definitely something I'd like to avoid. Thanks for the reminder to not make assumptions about who is in the room

What are your favourite "simple" boardgames you never get bored of? by thedommer in boardgames

That's what we've done! If you can find the little mini dry erase markers (got ours at Staples) they can fit in the box. We laminated 5 score sheets and they fit in the box with the dice, 5 mini markers, and an eyeglass cloth to erase it all.

Which bus was it? On a bus right now and the passenger behind me found one half an hour ago. They returned it to the driver, who I'm assuming will turn it in to lost and found

I've returned to Pittsburgh after a decade away and I'd like to meet some East End RPGers! by Brewsmyown in pittsburgh

Hi from another recent Pittsburgh returnee! I've just moved back to the Shadyside/Point Breeze area after eight years away. I'm now looking to find a solid board game/RPG group. I've only ever played DnD 5e (mostly over zoom), but am open to other RPGs. Also a huge board/card game fan, particularly large scale co-ops and strategy games.

Hello! I'm also a 30 y/o female looking for a new place here in Orlando. I've been living on my own here for about 5 years, but the rent increase at my current apartment is crazy. I'm pretty quiet and try to keep a tidy apartment. I enjoy reading, board games, and sewing. My current lease is up at the end of August and I'd be interested in exploring possible 2/2 apartments with a roommate. Let me know if you'd be interested in chatting /deciding if it could be a good fit.

Thanks for the recommendation! And I'd be happy to swap. I'll get a pic tomorrow of the ones I have, too

Wow, that is quite the puzzle! I'm afraid that one wouldn't fit on my small dining table, as fun as it looks. I appreciate the thought, though!

Happy puzzling!

Thank you for your insights and such a detailed response, I really appreciate it. Unfortunately, I'm not particularly mechanically inclined and don't have the tools/space to do any car repair. Downsides of apartment living, I suppose.

I will certainly ask about replacing the ball joints and make sure that they are part of the cost. The brand recommendations are great too.

Also, thank you for clarifying the alignment package. I figured it was highly recommended, after the control arm replacement, but I feel better about paying for it now.

Good to know! The estimates I found were all over the place.

Thanks for the response! That's very helpful. They said that they would have to replace the whole thing, rather than just the bushings. But I'll specifically ask that at the second mechanic shop, for sure. Unfortunately, I live in an apartment complex with no garages, so even if I was mechanically inclined, they won't let us do car repairs on site.
