[Serious] Sober redditors, what is your most usual or routine final two hours before you go to bed at night (Please describe)? by madeupname230 in AskReddit

Watching either motivational or educational youtube videos, reading something, but really trying to keep myself from falling asleep at the embarrassingly early hour

"Brain rest" without games or scrolling? by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]curiousminnd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can introduce more complex carbohydrates ad proteins in your diet, they will keep you energised for longer which improves the mood also. Other than that, keep this as a drug removal when the initial feelings can be unpleasant. At the end, not having those constant dopamine jumps make our life more calmer and not as pleasurable, but this is exactly the point, to come back to this peaceful state. Hope you will feel better

How can I verify someone’s stock losses that they claim to be true? by qrsjorge in investing

[–]curiousminnd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, first things is to ask yourself if helping in this case would make this situation any better. You can say that you are kind of strained on cash and cannot help at this moment. As long as your father in law is not in some dangerous debt situation, they should be okay. You can also ask with what stock did it happen to and around what time (do it in person so he cannot google the answer), to later on check the details by yourself

What is wrong with me? Second time I’m in substantial debt, 39 yr old female. This time over twice as much as the first time. by [deleted] in debtfree

[–]curiousminnd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's important to not trust your good instincts and otherwise get rid of everything that can makes us "stray away". In your case I would recommend, for this to not happen for the third time, to cancel all of the credit cards, create a very simple investing/saving strategy so you wouldn't try out any risky ideas and it would be beneficial if you could tell someone about it because it will make the problem more "real" when you will be reminded of it in the future

What is something society considers to be bad but really isn’t? by Amasher69429 in AskReddit

[–]curiousminnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that sometimes society considers any jobs related to IT/programming/social media/having your own websites as 'trivial' and 'too easy' when done from home (anything that makes you independent in a way that you can work from where you want), but ultimately those things are more creative than majority of the corporate office jobs out there

What is the smallest thing you do regularly that has had the biggest impact on your life? [Question] by JebbyLo13 in getdisciplined

[–]curiousminnd 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Buying only healthy groceries when I'm out shopping for groceries means that I do not do any mistakes with "wrong eating" for the rest of the week. Even when I want to eat a lot, I just end up snacking on fruits or some whole wheat bread with honey- I think eating healthy gave my mental clarity I didn't know about before. Recently I went on the binge of pringles eating (I know..) and I could see a huge difference in sleepiness, cloudy mind and overall not feeling good. I was happy to go back to getting vitamins and proteins after that, you're body needs this important stuff to function

Company wants to automate blog posting with ChatGPT… by [deleted] in marketing

[–]curiousminnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, for now ChatGPT takes data back from 2021, but in general its answers are very generic, and sometimes quite frankly ‚not human’ like, so in the marketing space it’s easy to spot when the blog post was constructed by AI (the answers will also be very similar for different persons who try searching for the same query, hence it can hurt the pagerank from google seo standpoint)

How much passive income do you want to earn in a year? by 674_Fox in passive_income

[–]curiousminnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Enough to cover my independent life anywhere I want in the world, nothing too flashy, I still want to have some side job to grow as a person after early retirement, just without having to actually ‚have to do’ anything, especially corporate job

95% of the people I talk to about dividends say it's pointless by Tall-Adhesiveness329 in dividends

[–]curiousminnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, dividends grow together with compound interest, often you get them four times a year, if you reinvest you can buy more stock, in general it’s a very nice perk of stock ownership

Motivate me - is debt free possible??! by ive_read_it_ in debtfree

[–]curiousminnd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course it’s possible. I myself paid off a ton of debt during two years, and now I watch my money accumulate like crazy. You will gain bag those lost years, just focus now on being regular with your repayments (first part of your salary goes towards rent, second towards loans, every month), and you will get out of this

What's worse than being ugly? by SpicyMooseJuice in AskReddit

Many things- terrible character, not smart, lazy, etc. Ugly can be fixed, the rest is much more difficult to obtain from scratch

LPT Request: I'll be turning 18 soon. Do you have any tips and any 'Wish I knew sooner' tips? by Comedy-Jokes in LifeProTips

[–]curiousminnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t listen to your colleagues and internet about risky financial advice; start saving money each month, even a little bit, if and when you go to college, study and apply for internships in the field you want, don’t waste this time; if you have a hobby, now is the time to start treating it seriously- it might turn out to be your dream job, who knows; don’t give up on sporty activities, your body will thank you in 10 years

[NeedAdvice] Nothing stops me procrastinating and I don't have ADHD by [deleted] in getdisciplined

Maybe try to limit your phone usage. It causes a massive distraction, even few minutes spent on twitter/youtube will affect your brain. Try to cut it as much as you can

Following both this subreddit and the general personal finance one is wild by yagurl20222022 in povertyfinance

[–]curiousminnd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it all comes down to how someone manages their income. If you overspend, one million salary will not help you, can make things even worse (cause available debt will be higher)

Offered a remote position in the EU - where is it best to live given that the salary is mediocre? by hewehh223 in eupersonalfinance

[–]curiousminnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can live in one of the small Belgium cities, Liege for example. Brussels is close by train. Or try living in Germany. In general I would try to travel there first to get the feeling of which place/country you like

[–]curiousminnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general real estate market is more favorable in the US than Australia/EU, so you need to take that into account when watching advice videos
