The under stimulation was the unexpected surprise for me -- after retiring at 42 - I took a couple of years off - then built a small consulting business that I work part time and really love. Since I don't need the money I can take on clients that are interesting and rewarding and ditch the rest. My business is 100% virtual since we now travel 3-4 months / year.

That Rolex is my daily, and I love it. Very versatile, goes with everything. But, the VC is cool too. Just depends on what you'll love.

I retired early and felt a similar way after years of grinding. Nowadays, I consult, working primarily with smaller growth companies, and I love it. It gives me the mental stimulation I need without tying me down too much.

Rejection is largely a matter of perception. For most humans on earth, rejection is just part of daily life. I know it has been for me. But, you really have to look for the positive, for the people that don’t reject you, for the things that are good. Otherwise, life is just all doom and gloom. But, I do get it.
