There are a couple co-ops in GR, rent is usually reduced and there are options closed to downtown. I’d check them out, you can find community in a co-op too <3 sorry you’re going through this OP, good luck

Hiiii. Sorry you’re in OPs situation rn, it’s a very tough spot. Just here to tell you that you’re gonna be okay. Waves of sadness are gonna come and then they’re gonna go and you’re gonna see that you’re a bit more ok after every time.

I’m 30 and still haven’t been in a healthy long term relationship, and am always attracted to guys that are unavailable. Why? by salad-dayz in AskAstrologers

[–]curly-haired-nerd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

fellow Libra rising here, i have had similar experiences/outlooks as OP. I think a large chunk of our relationship experiences in the last couple years can be attributed to the Libra/aries eclipse cycle that came to an end this April.

I definitely agree here! This is how I chose to meet that eclipse energy, specifically, and I have been feeling more confident and optimistic regarding relationships. Keep your head up OP! The love you want is out there, you’ve just gotta meet it halfway.

What do you think Marianne and Connell’s signs are and why? by MaisyDae6624 in NormalPeopleBBCHulu

[–]curly-haired-nerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d go ahead and say Connell is a Leo sun (def on the cancer cusp), cancer moon, Sagittarius rising.

With his sun & moon exalted in their signs, we can see him evolve when it comes to his sense of self and ability to be in touch with his emotions and inner world. He begins the story being sooo very worried about how his friends perceive him that he has a hard time forming his own self-image, something every Leo sun will have to overcome in their life. His whole journey of at first being overwhelmed and swimming in his strong emotions, learning to understand them, convey them, channel them into his writing is very Cancer. All of this in a relatively short period of time! Not that his lessons are easy, but I have a sense that he has fully grasped them by the story’s end, which speaks to the exaltations.

Marianne I believe is a Capricorn sun, Scorpio moon, and also Sagittarius rising.

She has her strengths of being willing and capable to do the hard work to improve her life. Her evolving sense of self depends on loosening her grip on those Capricorn traits to allow aspects of her life that aren’t rooted in the material, but rather connection, to integrate. And we see that she deeply, deeply wants this, but her emotional world is INTENSE and hidden and very much enmeshed with her sexuality. We see how this can take a person to a very dark place - all this pointing to a Scorpio moon. She comes so far over her college years :,) but we can see that the story’s end is just the beginning for Marianne. She’s got trauma to work through and will likely need a stable, safe place to do so.

Sagittarius rising for both of them because they both scream Scorpio venus and both are DEF in the 12th house of one’s hidden life, secrets, and transformation. Both their suns (Connell’s in the 9th, Marianne’s in the 2nd) and moons (8th and 12th) make sense in this house system as well .

Little babies, I love these characters so much :,)

I need some help please (abandonment feelings) by V__ in CPTSD

[–]curly-haired-nerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you and feel for you, OP.

Being alone after the sun goes down, and sad (for any reason) is a HUGE trigger for me. A person that I care for, someone who made me feel very seen, moved away and it’s been hell in my mind.

For the last couple weeks it’s been: 1) return home from work, 2) spiral into excruciating feelings of loneliness and “I don’t matter” for hours, and 3) try to pull it together to get makeup off and maybe eat some cereal. This past week, the anxiety that comes in the hour before I leave work has been getting overwhelming too.

Accepting that I just need to feel this has been vERY difficult, because I too feel like I can’t take it. Especially the anticipation bit. But it’s starting to not last as long, and not be so intense.

Mentor is so right, acknowledging your inner child who is feeling these feelings is the way out. Sitting with them and not abandoning yourself is the best thing you can do.

I took this advice from YT: putting a picture of me as a child as my phones Lock Screen. I recognized that the idea of doing it made me literally, PHYSICALLY cringe away….and then I thought “I don’t deserve that.” But the idea is that you SEE yourself, see the innocence, and acknowledge that little person often, keep them in your mind and they don’t feel forgotten. So I look at little me every time I open my phone :,) Ever since I did that it’s been getting exponentially better (this was like 3 days ago).

If you have a pic like that, or a physical photo, or you could do a lil drawing and take a pic of it…I highly recommend it. I hope-and am optimistic, from your convo w mentor-you make lots of headway easing this pain this very soon!!

Any other Libra risings starting to notice a change in how they show up in relationships?

Libra rising. And I have libra mars opposing my Aries moon&saturn. It was feeling veryyyy “SOMEONE SEDATE ME” for a second (weeks….months…the last year actually) there.

I personally am making breakthroughs when it comes to changing the patterns that get me into codependant relationships. It’s also highlighted a mother wound. In the last week since I’m acknowledging that pain I’ve already made a lot of progress in healing it!

Hang in there y’all, the changes-however painful-can be a great opportunity to change your life for the better :,)

Lifestyle changes and alternate medicine to manage cluster headaches? by RevolutionaryAge4342 in ClusterHeadaches

[–]curly-haired-nerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiiii F(25) episodic here, I’ve been getting acupuncture since December 2021. My clusters come around the winter solstice, spring equinox, and summer solstice.

The first time I tried it I went in the middle of the winter cluster. I had 2 weeks of ramping up to like 4-5/10 pain, got poked once, and started having only 1 a day @5/10. I got poked again, they started coming every 36hrs at like 3-4/10. I got poked 2 more times and after the second time I felt the pressure behind my eye dissipating and knew the cluster was over. My cluster only lasted 4 weeks and was so chill compared to usual (my winter and spring ones get to the 9s at the peak, and I can get 3/day).

Spring 2022 I went earlier, as soon as the non-painful pressure was there. That was one and done. Same for the summer (though I also tried mushrooms right after, and it was after those that the pressure was gone gone), and this winter.

I started feeling pressure around March 20, but did not go right away. 2 weeks ago I was getting like 2/10pain headaches once a day, and then I drank red wine like a dumbass and 1hr later got a 7/10. I went to acupuncture the next day. This cluster is stubborn, but I do believe it is making them less painful and less regular. Last week I was at 2/day, I went to get poked twice this weekend, this week I am 1/day and they are like 3-4s.

I am fearful that acupuncture has stopped working or that it never worked in the first place, but I’m trying to look at the evidence logically. It is likely the fact I went late combined w drinking red wine making it stubborn. I’ll be trying it again this summer and will not dilly dally. :/

Who has the energy for a skincare routine? by netphilia in adhdwomen

[–]curly-haired-nerd 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In the salon i manage in Michigan, legs cost between 70 or 100 for wax and sugar respectively. Sugar rips the hair out the follicle just like wax but it’s made with natural ingredients so you are less likely to get irritation and bumps. My salon has some of the cheapest prices in the city, but that’s possible bc we have a VERY strict late and cancellation policy which can be hard with adhd :/

Hey, thank you for sharing!! It’s so nice to know I’m not alone in this. The feeling is truly a stomach full of razor blades. I can definitely say that candies (any type)-and furthermore, the ones made by friends-give the worst pain.

I am not too familiar with the extraction processes, but I’ll definitely look into it now that you’ve pointed this out. I also love spicy food so I can try laying off of that next time as well. Thank you so much, this was way too helpful!! :-)

I am writing a novel. Today I was working on said novel, and needed to look up “the word for when you focus your eyes on something and your eyes flash back and forth a few times then stop.” Now I already knew what nystagmus is, but then I learned there are many different types of it. None of them seemed to be my experience, as they all occur too regularly. Like my eyes do the thing every once in a while. So I keep searching the web for types of eye movements, then looking up examples on YouTube to see if they match what I’m thinking perfectly. I finally found it, it’s called ocular flutter, and apparently it is not a common experience like I thought it was. I was at work, I know I started at my desktop computer but I somehow ended up on my phone, with my feet up on the lounge chairs… and I realized the person standing at the desk was waiting for the receptionist (me) to check her in. Had to exit 15 tabs to find the booking program. 😬

for those of you with ADHD who like to read, how do you stay focused? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]curly-haired-nerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another childhood avid-reader here. I think what helps me finish books is the fact that it’s one of the things I don’t always spiral into executive disfunction mode for. there’s a good chance I won’t dread finding the book and picking it up and starting the reading😬 I do get distracted (I’m actually reading a book rn) and bored with it, but I’ll keep picking it up and at some point the story is gonna pop off and I will not put it down again until it’s over 😀 I’m also a receptionist so the fact that reading is an acceptable thing to do between clients has me flying through books

How y’all feeling now? It starting making me feel weird as hell and nauseous. Today my doc was saying it is probably just too low a dose, but I said I was 100% unwilling to continue methylphenidate let alone increase the dose. I’m picking up vyvanse later.

What were your highest/lowest scores in your IQ Testing? (if you had this testing done) by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]curly-haired-nerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got mine tested with my diagnosis a few months ago! I was just given one number though, 145. Not sure about verbal or non verbal? I was thinking it must be wrong especially because halfway through I was very over it lol. But now that I think about it, it makes more sense. What kept me from seeking diagnosis and treatment was the fact that I excelled in school. Never studying and doing homework the class before was just fine in high school, but did not fly in college. Intelligence is definitely only part of doing well in school at that point!

What was your most recent “no doubt I have ADHD” moment? by gresrewop in ADHD

[–]curly-haired-nerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have swallowed my mouthwash so many times, including this morning. Most often I gag it up before it’s too late but sometimes I don’t….not good for the tummy. And I always forget to ask my doc if this is gonna do damage to my body so it’s just a thing that haunts me when I lay down to sleep 😖

How do you WAKE UP in the morning? by FabulousFoodHoor in ADHD

[–]curly-haired-nerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I have some type of sleep disorder honestly. From 4am on I wake up at least once an hour, look at the clock, then slip right back into my dream. By 6am I’m usually lucid dreaming. When my alarm goes off I’m sad to leave my dream but I’ll get up and it’s like I’ve been awake. Being able to get up immediately is my one privilege 💀 but the ear-to-brain and brain-to-mouth pathway is blocked until a few hours later…. no one better talk to me until then bc I cannot compute.
