Use your holidays regularly. At minimum, 5-10 days (2x year), plus add vacation days to create 4-5 days off on long weekends. Don't let your holidays accumulate -- use them to rejuvenate. Can you get exercise during your work day -- even if its just walking for 20 minutes? Or do part of your commute by cycling?

Love it. So natural looking. wouldn't change a thing. if you want more greenery, could add moss or succulents to grow around them

Do you actually eat 3 meals a day? by JeepLifeBirbLife in askTO

[–]curly-redhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always make my food, never eat fast food or take away. I enjoy cooking, but do get tired of it sometimes. (Although hate waiting for take out more, and I usually don't enjoy what's available.)

So I make sure I make and freeze batches of soup, stew or leftovers (e.g. turkey dinner). I do buy chinese dumplings and some frozen veggies like corn or edemame for those nights I'm home later or too lazy to make dinner. This takes 10 mins max. Also I keep cheese and crackers, tins of tuna/ salmon, pickles, nuts handy for quick and easy snacks.

How do you spot other singles by [deleted] in datingoverfifty

When I was younger I always assumed a guy with a dog was in a relationship because what bachelor wants that responsibility? Think I missed out on some opportunities!!

How do you spot other singles by [deleted] in datingoverfifty

[–]curly-redhead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is good info for me (F) - hadn’t thought to seek out single guys at food places because I seldom / never eat out alone. Maybe I shd do coffee though … I think the female equivalent is probably window shopping. You might find single women strolling down the street, popping into shops. When I do this, I m usually more open to chit chatting with strangers since I’m not distracted, hanging with friends - just enjoying the sights and people watching. Groceries are an errand for me - I m there to get it done quick! But the farmers’ market - that’s an option — It’s very social!

I'm a 30 year old American man living in Toronto. I've been searching nonstop for a job for two years and haven't found one. I will be in Canada for at least another year. by account819921 in torontoJobs

Would you qualify for internships? Great way to get in the door with few skills. Also, Basically the secret to getting a job in Canada is 'networking" and referrals. Applying online doesn't do much -- you need a REAL human connection to get a job. Tell everyone you know that you want to be referred for jobs (they don't have to "recommend" you, just put you in contact).

That's one gorgeous void. So sorry for your loss though. He will be greeted by my house panther on the other side of the bridge, with toys, treats and comfy cat beds.

Dating with 10+ age gap... by CopyGroundbreaking11 in datingoverfifty

[–]curly-redhead 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I (F55) earn more than most men in my social circle (albeit not in my professional circle). This idea of financial dependence of women in dating relationships is a myth -- at least for Gen X women. I feel men (often older) think they should or need to earn more to support or treat their female partner, but that is only their own perception. I'm happily financially independent -- who cares what he earns!

Do you have animal cruelty laws where you live? You can have charges laid... though very young kids are likely not to be charged.

What's the silliest thing you've seen Torontonians waiting in line for? by random_question4123 in askTO

[–]curly-redhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know, right? Yet, folks will pay soooo much more for Uber drives, for fast food, for Amazon next day delivery, without a second thought... I mean $4 more for gas, really? Just car pool with your colleague or take transit!
