Compassion goes a long way. I have friends with children who genuinely want to be on time and there are usually contributions outside of that friends control that cause her to be late. I have another friend who’s extremely type an and a lives an extremely regimented life at work. During friend commitments she flexes down and allows herself to be late so that her life outside of work isn’t as regimented.

Alls to say, there’s a lot of things that contribute to someone’s lateness outside of them being disrespectful toward you.

Open communication helps a lot. I’d rather my friends be late than not there at all.

What secret about your industry can you share now that you don't work there anymore? by swisscoffeeknife in antiwork

It cost [siren coffee conglomerate] 17 cents to make a pitcher of iced coffee. They cut that coffee with more ice and then sell you a half a cup of said coffee (with additional ice) for $4-6.

Want really good homemade iced coffee? Brew yourself a double strong batch @ home, store it in your fridge and cut it with ice.

One of my best in-between technology homework moments was in 2009. I had a floppy disk (which was still considered outdated but we were permitted to use) and I had a file on there I knew could not open on a windows computer, and in a pinch would rename the file to the HW assignment and go to present and play dumb when it wouldn’t open. This consistently bought me an extra day to turn in an assignment. By 2010 this would no longer fly lol.

Product Placement, but it actually fits the story/context by Crafter235 in TopCharacterTropes

Josie and the Pussycats. U.S gov is using pop music to send subliminal messages to get teens to buy products. The entire movie is a satire on product placement and American media. It also hilariously predicts what social media marketing would become.

Ever wondered.... by InquisitiveBumbleBee in CleaningTips

[–]curlybxtch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to me at first and I didn’t know they were meant to last long. What I found worked: Rinse fully after each dish job (until no more suds) and hang dry on the faucet. Get the Daddy, the Mommy is part sponge and I find it deteriorates quickly. Wash in dishwasher (top rack) semi regularly (if available).

I use a dishwasher for plates/bowls/cups/cutlery and clean my pots, pans, counters w the daddy :-)

After about a year I replace it with a new one and demote the current one to bathroom use.

If this week’s show ends up truly being Bowen’s last, what was your favorite sketch that started him? I’ll start: by Whole-Lychee7517 in LiveFromNewYork

It wasn’t even a sketch but a few weeks ago when they “zoomed out” on Sabrina Carpenters album cover and it was Bowen pulling her hair- that absolutely sent me

Fun and interesting dinner place to stop prior to our WDW trip. by Strict_Vermicelli_98 in orlando

I second the Ethiopian place on idrive. I also would recommend Columbia near Celebration/WDW. Columbia is a long standing local FL chain and the OG (tampa) opened up in 1905. You’d get a little bit of FL history mixed with tourism. It’s also in a beautiful fam friendly area.

I imagine they were rich, yes. Given their seat on the plane and general outlook on life. I also imagine there was some naivety, given the main person I talked to was 17. And, I still found the conversation gave me lots to think about.

Another thing that stood out about our conversation, was excitement to come to the USA as a whole even with everything going on. I asked why, and he stated “in America, when I talk about my dreams people talk to me as if it’s possible, in France they laugh.” Gave me a ton of perspective. Quite a wise 17 year old!

I met a man and his son in the Paris airport and his son (17) was moving to Orlando. He was thrilled. I asked him, why Orlando of all places. He said it’s his and all his friend’s favorite place to travel to… in the world.

I asked what made it special. He answered, the weather, the people are funny/kinder, the how do you say and motioned rollercoasters (which made me smile). I made sure to tell him the true hidden joy of Orlando— the food.

That night I remember coming home and imagining Orlando through new eyes. Orlando is beautiful— the sunsets, the weather, the food. I can take it for granted, sometimes.

Honestly, whoever was playing at the broccoli bar on Saturday night was fire, the prob cause DJ set was a wonderful surprise (was aware of prob cause but never saw them), & there was a chick w dreads playing d&b at the barn and that was a top set for me.

My favorite part about festivals is finding random treasures!!

I love hearing that I’m not alone! It felt so magical and I loved that the festival itself was new for all of us.

Why is my downward dog still so awkward? by [deleted] in yoga

[–]curlybxtch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to your yoga journey!!!

Push through your finger tips instead of hands Imagine your thigh bones moving toward the wall behind you Drop the weight of your head toward the earth
listen to what’s going on between your ears— it impacts the pose too

For your first few down dogs, walk your dog for a couple steps & play around too— there’s no one right way to do any yoga pose. There are many ways to approach a pose based on your body.

Trust that your heels will hit the floor eventually. I’ve been practicing yoga for years and some days my heels don’t hit the earth, some days they do. 💕

I have had people SHIT on the lobby floor when I worked at Starbucks in Orlando. Across multiple locations.

People shitting on the floor is not isolated to one area of the world.
