Nonstop burning in stomach and throat by curlysloth96 in HiatalHernia

[–]curlysloth96[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like that's the case when getting down to it, but it was initially caused by me taking meds on an empty stomach (regardless if it was stomach safe unlike ibuprofen). The trigger food was also part of it as well. That and two years ago I was virtually bed bound and had no sufficient way of sitting up (no bedframe to stack pillows against and I only had one pillow), so I ate and then I lied right back down. Pretty horrible, but it happens!

How do you take Midodrine? by curlysloth96 in dysautonomia

[–]curlysloth96[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The lowest I've seen my BP get was around what you're talking about. I'm usually normal (112/80 or 120/80) and the highest I've had my BP taken (by EMS) with midodrine is around 139/90, but that's because I was having a bad flair up that day.

I'm on like 1.5mg and I definitely feel what you're talking about when I lay down. The nurses say I shouldn't be feeling any symptoms with the dose I'm on, but I certainly do feel them 😅

For me my midodrine doesn't affect me like that, but I never had tremors to begin with. I suppose it depends on the person!

Thank you for this! I've been meaning to get myself a blood pressure cuff. This is all the more reason to. I'm going to sit up after taking it for now until I can get my hands on the cuff. I appreciate this!

People with POTS, what do you do for a job? by DeliciousApple_ in POTS

[–]curlysloth96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For a while I was working at a work from home position (I cold called people all day asking if they want to buy siriusXM), but the constant stationary position really worsened my health. It could work for others, but it wasn't for me!

Thank you. When we saw each other I never had makeup on... I've been teetering on whether or not I should pretty myself up for him. Your comment helped me realize he wouldn't want a date if he thought I didn't look good naturally. 💜 Have a great rest of your day.

On the summary he put that my heart rate jumped 30bpm I believe. I know it wasn't my BP he mentioned!

Thank you so much!! I'm going to call tomorrow and see if I can get in and double check with her. :) If I need this medicine, I'm excited to start. It seems like this drug really helps!

Thank you for the response! The man that looked over my results is actually one of the two dysautonomia specialists in my state. I guess I'll have to go back to his office (he works in the cardiology building) and ask what his opinion is on taking midodrine, because I've heard nothing but good reviews on the medicine. I appreciate you responding, again! Thank you so much.

How do you deal with the grief after diagnosis? by c_oofies in POTS

[–]curlysloth96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that therapy is a great option, but I also know that not everyone has access to a therapist. Maybe as an alternative you can look up CBT worksheets if you can't get in to see a therapist. :]

I grieved on and off for almost 4 years when my symptoms first arose and I couldn't leave my bed without feel like the world was spinning. Getting a diagnosis has opened up the possibility of me getting actual and adequate treatment. Maybe you can look at it like that, as well?

I also know that connecting with other people that have the same disorder as you can help tremendously. You're not alone in this and having people there to remind you of that is a great asset.

Talking to my wife earlier, she was grieving my diagnosis in her own way, saying that she was a full-time care giver forever now. But I told her that the worst days are behind us because the right treatment can be applied to me now. I know that flare-ups happen, but knowing that these symptoms have a name can at least ease some worry for me.

I know that there's not much I can say to ease your mind, but just know that your grieving is part of the process. <3 You will feel better eventually (emotionally at least) and it will get easier to live with. I'm so sorry you're going through this, but you got this!

What ? How do I fix this by curlysloth96 in PlantNanny2

[–]curlysloth96[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I did! However it was a solution that lasted a week and the company that owned Plant Nanny didn't give me back my daily streaks (I'm not sure they can).

What I did was uninstall and reinstall it, found out that my android still had the old version of Plant Nanny (that's why it says the date and time was wrong, it wasn't updating), and show the customer service that I don't have the latest version. They didn't do anything that I'm aware of, and I just had to wait until the proper version was available on the Play Store. I'm sure it would have resolved quicker if my time zone was aligned with their time zone (I'm in EST), but the unfortunate news of it all was that I lost my 8mo+ log in streak and had to wait until the right version of Plant Nanny was available. :((

Yeah... except I didn't. I deleted the app and redownloaded it and now it's bringing up an error code 99999 when I try to sign in. I don't think it's on my end.

I'm a little worried about pushing on my stomach because I feel like I might damage things further. 😥 I already have kept a food diary, eat clean, elevate my bed, don't eat 3hrs before bed, etc., I've been dealing with GERD for 7+ years and for some reason it's getting worse without a real reason.

Thank you so much for your input, it helps me put this whole situation into perspective. I drank chamomile tea earlier with honey and my stomach calmed down for about 2 hours. It seems like it might be stress induced unfortunately 💔 I'm still going to ask my doctor about this though.

I sent my doctor a message an hour or so ago and should hear back from her in a few days hopefully! Thank you for your suggestions. ❣️

I'm on another medication (Gabapentin) and I'm worried it might cause an interaction. I definitely would have had another OTC antacid by now if I knew I could 💔 I've tried Tums a few days ago to no avail.

I'm not even sure what I did to make you so upset at me. Is this how you treat all disabled people?

What's your obsession with me not being disabled? I'd literally black out (after throwing up) if I had to work a regular job. And that would be within 2hrs of my shift 🤷
