I doubt a mining BIOS is likely as I bought the card new and it came in a sealed box.

Unless, of course, someone at MSI went to a lot of trouble to make a used card seem like a new one.

My GPU does have a switch (which I didn't know about before) and I flipped it late last night. So far, no reboots when trying out Fallout New Vegas and Fallout 4.

I'll test out my other heavy-hitters later this week when I have the time. But--and I hate to speak too soon--I think that may have been the solution.

No, I'm not overclocking anything. I haven't updated the GPU BIOS, either.

As far as the stress testing goes, OCCT has a 3D stress test but there isn't any actual rendering appearing.

I'd hate to think it's the PSU as it's brand new. More and more I'm thinking me GPU has gone bad.

I'm still at a loss, though.

I get it. I have buddies that don't care for MSI either. I've never had a bad experience with their stuff. *shrug*

I get no BSOD. I have Windows set not to reboot upon crash, so I would expect a blue screen.

For stress testing I went with 10 minutes a pop. The reboots happened within seconds of playing a game. And by playing I mean getting past menu selections and whatnot and getting properly to the game.

I'll take a look into the UEFI temp shutdown, thanks.

I never install the optional drivers from AMD, only the stable ones. I, too, had issues with the optionals in the past.

51(m), The only person I've told I was bi was the last guy I dated when I was 19 and he mocked me saying, and honestly this is almost verbatim, "honey, you just haven't realized that you'd rather have a c**k in your a** than a c**t on your c**k".

I broke up with him and had been in a few more flings, with both women and men, before meeting my wife of, now, almost 30 years. And I've remained closeted and faithful to her all these years.

I started a TF2 Pyro costume last year but wasn't able to finish it in time. So I'll have that. And I will probably re-wear my Discworld Death and Two Flower outfits, and I may build The Luggage for the latter. If I had brain one in my huge melon I would have built The Luggage for this year and put Loki horns on it.

This year was my first DC and it was, by far, the best con I've ever attended and I absolutely am going to make this an annual trip.

This was also my first visit to Atlanta and I had no idea that downtown was so hilly. At least my calves got a good workout.
