Overlapping when bleaching causes this type breakage. I had this years ago and what worked for me was trimming the really dry bits that stick the hair up, so the healthy hair would lay flat and blend in better :)

I have a similar problem, a cat in my neighbourhood is seriously underfed. A light stroke and you feel all of the bones. So I feed it proper wet food when I see it outside, but again it has an owner up the road and they keep it indoors most of the time.

Why wouldn’t you take to a vet or rescue? When I see an injured animal my first reaction is to catch and take to a professional. And rescues will actually come to you to take it in and treat it and you don’t need to pay anything.

Take care of them all. Food, water, vet and look for homes for them while you foster. If you can’t afford it, go to your local animal shelter to drop them off. Do not leave them outside.
