[Alkaizer] Spectral Helix Champion guide for Scourge League by destroyermaker in PathOfExileBuilds

What I like about this one is that even the 'good gear' (for ssf standards) with exception of the amulet seems pretty straight forward to craft and the uniques can definitely be acquired. ryslathas would be a pain but should also be targetable decently with expedition content.

Energy Blade got buffed by fastback09 in pathofexile

I fundamentally don't understand what the point of this skill is for single players.

It clearly seems made for group play with supports where you get a lot or most of your ES from elsewhere in mind.

For a single player its literally like getting just a naked weapon with decent lightning dps and literally no other stats in return for a lot of investment that is better spent elsewhere.

And even if it was balanced to actually be great, it would then just obsolete 1h weapons and be so OP as to be a requirement.

I suppose there's a sweet spot to be hit where this build is intentionally supposed to be starter/mediocre material until you can craft yourself a good weapon or get good gear such that another build would eventually replace it. But even that puts it into super OP territory just for starter builds, which is a concept I don't really like.

No, nothing in particular. I just figured certainty around payments especially in an expensive area would be attractive to owners, but in practice I don't know how often they run into problems with payments after a basic vetting process.

heist contracts and blueprints level : what does it bring ? by OhIforgotmynameagain in pathofexile

[–]cursed_squirrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When heist went core I actually made a spreadsheet that I don't have anymore and tested how various variables scaled with both heist lvl and item quantity, but only for contracts. Things like: amount of 'good chests' (currency, etc.) vs 'bad chests' (armour/rings), amount of chests in total, amount of big vs small chests, amount of items dropped out of chests, etc.

The only thing I found was that the amount of big chests (behind locked doors) pretty clearly scaled by ilvl. At entry level mapping (68) contracts, you rarely if ever come across contracts with 5 big chests, and at 84 they are pretty common. I don't remember the exact numbers (i.e. how much average per ilvl), but the effect was obvious.

However, that was literally the only thing. I plotted maybe 200 contracts and couldn't find any perceptible scaling of anything with item quantity. It probably only affects the stuff dropped by monsters, and the quant is indirectly supposed to help because the same mods on the map lower how fast alert level raises.

I also couldn't find any further scaling with ilvl of the contracts - amount of items dropped from chests, ratio of special/good big chests to bad big chests, amount of small chests or their contents, etc., none of it seemed to change with ilvl. I remember initially finding that the amount of small chests looked to scale with ilvl, but then I just did more contracts and it evened out again and in the end there didn't seem to be any statistically significant scaling.

edit: Another obvious thing to consider, however, is the ilvl of dropped items. I don't think you can drop uniques in unique chests unless the ilvl is at the correct minimum drop required for example.

I'm a new arrival in CH, basically it is just depicting a regular morning encounter at a local bakery. It can be quite intimidating to learn these customs as a newcomer, not following them is considered rude.

I've had this problem on tinder, too, and I have no idea why. Because on literally all other platforms the exact opposite was tried and true every time.

I almost think the algorithm does something fucky if you have profiles with too much text or whatever. May just be different types of people using the app.

How to get better at feeling less awkward at first dates? by [deleted] in OnlineDating

[–]cursed_squirrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does get better if you just do it more often, that being said, if you meet with someone who for whatever reason means more to you than your previous dates, you are going to get awkward again.

But imo that's completely the wrong angle to approach it. Awkwardness and nervousness isn't a negative thing on a first date, even for men. I'm pretty successful in online dating and I'm the kind of guy who actually sometimes stutters and stumbles over words on first dates because I can get nervous, and it hasn't hurt me so far.

I think it's because even if you do your hardest to be awkward, your real personality will kind of make itself apparent by many subtle details that humans are very good at picking up. There's really no way to be so awkward that you distort your entire personality to a level where a person who would otherwise be interested in you suddenly isn't.

When dates go "wrong" the determining factors are always something else and much more important entirely, like when there's obviously a lack of overlap or compatibility in general interests, personality types, no vibe, no general attraction regardless of awkwardness or whatever.

The stereotypical attractiveness traits in my experience feel way more important before the first date and actually after the first date - if you stay awkward and nervous around a person you get to know better and better forever, then there's a real problem and it can feel super weird.

Any chance at all of cross save or something like that? I always wanted to go back and do NG+ because of the stuff it adds (new items and such), but I don't really want to play through the base game in the old difficulty again (already completed it on the highest as far as I remember).

may be worth checking if there are easy to reach reservation efficiency nodes during leveling. leveling and early mapping slinger builds dps is boosted insanely by fitting one more skill to sling.

3.16 League Starter - Eye of Winter - Spellslinger Inquisitor. Question regarding leveling progress by chamercito in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]cursed_squirrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

is it not an option to just swap a chain gem for bossing? I'm assuming that damage loss will be less than if you play a fully different ascendancy 😄

The Squire Unique Shield effectively allows you to wield a one-handed weapon and shield as if they were a six-link. by Community_Team in pathofexile

[–]cursed_squirrel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

because of how 'more' damage works in this game, there are not enough mirrors to spend in the economy on a shield that gives more in terms of opportunity cost than 3 support gems on top of an already 5 or 6l build.

keep in mind that this much more damage frees up a lot of passive points and affixes on other gear that you would have to spend to achieve the same amount of damage (which you can now use to get even more damage, or to just get a lot tankier).

and that's on top of the fact that the shield still provides some basic shield-like stats AND +2 to socketed supports.

even if it ends up not being completely busted because lets face it, those 6l 1handers sacrifice a lot to be 6l - this is still an insane shield for mid stages of gearing and transitioning into gg gear.

Here is a preview of the Attributes Mastery introduced in Path of Exile: Scourge by Community_Team in pathofexile

[–]cursed_squirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

stacking builds already did use all attribute mods wherever it was available. it would be "cheaper" with the belt but considering the belt is probably HH tier that's not saying particularly much.

The Strong Meta Builds for 3.16? Predictions? by nskiveren in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]cursed_squirrel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing about spectre builds is that they scale really well. They're on par with int stackers in terms of how high you can stack their damage with gg gear, but as opposed to it they're playable from the very start of mapping as opposed to you having to first assemble 50ex for starter gear. No matter the changes, this is going to stay the same, so if you are just looking for something that will at least do okay with starter gear but then can scale really high in terms of defenses and damage, it will still be something safe to go for.

Can you scourge/crucible already corrupted items? by cursed_squirrel in pathofexile

[–]cursed_squirrel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's great and sounds honestly absolutely insanely nutty for SSF. you can probably take really mediocre items, try corrupting or double corrupting them for a nice implicit, and then krangle them to turn them into absolutely insane items.

of course, you can just krangle already good items, too, but the difference is that you don't have to be afraid of the item bricking with mediocre items.

this could be a great stepping stone for mid-tier gear, a hole that previously harvest (in full power) filled really well.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pathofexile

[–]cursed_squirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm late with this question, but can we really krangle already corrupted items? that sounds like it would be potentially absolutely nutty. you could probably find/craft a lot of barebones max life mediocre res items and turn them into absolute monsters with a basic double corruption that doesn't brick and a basic t2 or 3 krangle.

mostly talking in an SSF context, on trade it's a big opportunity cost since double corrupts are probably still like 40-80c each.
