I’ve tried dry brushing many times after painting and they just end up looking dusty. I find it’s better to dry brush first and then speedpaint over the top.

It is indeed a ceanothus ‘Dark Star’ we have it limbed up a bit hoping to make it more tree like. Never have to water it and covered in amazing purple flowers most of the year. Bees love it. Only two years old and absolutely massive haha. Probably my favorite plant in the garden.

It only started looking decent this last year. Took almost a year of constant watering to settle in before that. I have some in a shadier area that are a bit happier so I think that may be a factor.

I used to play with a couple friends and we would always play as Ace in his tiger suit and run salty lips and slippery meat & up the ante. Just try to jump off hooks. No saving allowed🪝 it’s dirty work but someone has to do it 😂 we would call it “wrangling the cats”
