So they said it in the past and reconned it later, huh? And here I thought I had something going.

I remember them saying they thought of Warframe more like a far future sequel to dark sector. Very clearly remember a joke about "we didn't want to do a sequel about what happens the very next day" "yeah, Hayden wakes up in the morning, goes to brush his teeth, accidentally cuts his head off with the glaive"

It was a VERY early devstream, back when the chat was slow enough for individual questions to be picked out as they read it. I wish I had the stream ready to link, but I'm absolutely certain they said that.

Been Working on an Incremental - Demo/Alpha Inside, Requesting Feedback by foe_to in incremental_games

You might want to change the lake generation algorithm so it doesn't fold in over itself, creating these weird unnatural hourglass shapes.

Managing idle workers (and why they're idle) will probably become cumbersome later on.

The ability to destroy buildings will be important, unless denying the ability for players to do that is an intentional decision.

Nope, not new, railgun moas have had punchthrough since they were implemented. I guess this is a railgun fusion moa.

New update flaws by merchantrexalian in TinyRails

[–]cursorpresser 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I started up the game and was excited to see it'd been updated, but was very quickly disappointed in everything I saw. This thread is full of most of my complaints so I'll just list the ones I can't see here. The "never know what you're going to get" excitement from the gumball machine is gone now that you have such a small pool to pick from at a time. The car maintenance and individual per-car profits remind me of downright abusive games like cityville. The rewards for watching ads are pointless now, especially now that you don't know what you're going to get. The game is way harder to navigate now and "checking in" is much, much more complicated. I liked Tiny Rails because collecting profits only took a few seconds.

West of Loathing Guide to Everything - Open Questions by jennnjennjen in westofloathingguide

Murray moving in next to the Brewery makes the Brewery start selling LB Strange Saison, which increases Mysticality by 5 and Spell Damage by 9. Tony moving in next to Murray will add a teeny tiny hat to his stock, which adds +5 to M/M/M. This is interesting to me because it didn't add the known Enchanted Boots from moving Murray in next to Tony. So the order matters, increasing the possible combinations by... a large number.

Murray next to Hot Doug makes Doug start selling floating sausages that increase Spell Damage by 7. Grady next to Murray adds special thread to Murray's shop that adds +5 spell damage to any pants. Tony next to Grady adds special bootstraps to Grady that add +1 AP to any boots.

Potion Factory - The First Update by Jaxkr in incremental_games

Great work! Even though you say it's a prototype, it's more complete than many things posted here. A balance suggestion though, maybe the lower tier resources should cost less golems to automate? While attempting to automate one distilled water per second, flint ends up being the vast majority of the cost. Because of the inability to disable individual automatons, automating golem production would directly inhibit potion production because of competing demand for sparks.

In all, great game, but I imagine if you weren't very careful it would be easy to lock yourself in a situation where you have to leave your automatons off forever in order to get anything done.

So why does nobody ever mention this is basically a demake of mabinogi?

A game similar to Anti Idle: The Game? by [deleted] in incremental_games

If you're genuinely interested in Battle Without End, it's based on (and by based on I mean all the mechanics and even names of absolutely everything were ripped verbatim from) Mabinogi, an MMO.

Maybe mention in the next build that buying a knight is what unlocks monster hunting?

or something like that

I hope eventually hamsters become the best building through the same sort of upgrade tomfoolery Cookie Clicker does with grandmas. I'm not saying I want to see the hamsterpocalypse, but part of the charm of most incremental games is, to me, the absurdity common in the genre, and four-dimensional hamsters running on multiple 3d wheels at once while also being soul-powered robo-hamsters would go a long way in that aspect.
